i would love to see it as well, but i doubt they can perform such a task. I don't think Adam and Jamie can get the certain materials or the storage devices for them- if they can I would love to see it
I know what you mean. It's just I was thinking of more of a extreme heat/extreme cold explosion. If they would do a pressure bomb tho, that would be cool too.
Yeah, I've got to admit, the first few dozen times, the explosions are cool. But now, it's gotten to the point of "ehh, so what". How many times can you see something go boom at the Alameda County Bomb Range and still be interested? It's just a hole surrounded by shrapnel.
I think even the show runners are starting to get the message. I found the rigging the robot and the remote controlled finger the most interesting part of the C-4 in the microwave episode--the Grant jokes were even amusing. The actual explosions--yawn. Been there, seen that.
The way I would think of to make a liquid nitrogen 'bomb' would be to pour LN2 into a container and seal it. The idea is the same as the dry ice bomb: as it evaporates, pressure builds until the container fails. But explosions are getting rather dull. How about putting a whistle in the mouth of the container? That ought to make some noise. Or an LN2-powered whoopie cushion.
OK, here is one problem with pressure bombs. is it going to go off? When? Should you go see what the problem is or just leave it alone? What if the neighbor kid comes by just as it explodes? IT'S DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES TO YOUR SELF OR SOME INNOCENT BYSTANDER.
An explosive that didn't (yet) go off is the most dangerous explosive of all.
Beside, pressure bombs are considered 'Destructive Devices' under federal law and you can get yourself a FELONY arrest - and even a visit from the DHS.

I totally think that all of you guys have great points in everything. I just think it would be cool, so I sent it in to Mythbusters. Also, I would be wondering, if explosions arn't as fun as before, what on the show would be fun then!?!?!?
Perhaps what the show was originally intended as: Mythbusting mixed with comedic humor. Some of the people on this forum see explosions in real life, so it's not as interesting on TV.
