Referring back to idea within the "Straw Through a Palm Tree" myth, I've always wondered if there is a wind speed strong enough to fire a pencil through a brick wall. (After constantly hearing stories from people saying that it can be done.) Is it really possible?
As a side myth to this, I also remember my late uncle said that it is possible to do with an egg, and he had witnessed it. Again, I ask, is it really possible, no matter how ludicrous it sounds?

Most bullets won't penetrate a brick wall, and no recorded tornado could hurl a pencil at a speed faster than a bullet, so...no. The egg is even less plausible.

Still, it probably would be better if there was undeniable proof, as most of the people who told me is were adamant about the belief that it is possible. Even when common sense dictates otherwise.
Also, didn't Jaime say that a 2X4 can be fired through a cinder block wall? (From the air tank through a wall myth in Season 4, I believe.)

The fact that a bullet travels faster than a pencil hurled by the strongest winds is pretty undeniable. If you absolutely must have visible proof, it would be fairly easy to do yourself. You would just need a pencil, a brick wall and some compressed air.

After the pencil failed to get through it would be claimed that it was not undeniable proof because the compressed air could not give the pencil sufficient velocity.
Then different types of propellant would be tried, and when they failed it would be because the wrong type of pencil was used.
See the problem?

if you had a way to propel a pencil up to something like 10,000mph I imagine in THAT situation it could bust through a brick wall....although not very likely in one piece. plus you's need one hell of a machine to produce that kind of speed

There is a rail gun that could get it up to 5000 mph. the metal band holding the eraser on the pencil would propell it through the rail gun. I am not sure how well the pencil would survive at that speed before it hits the brick. It would probably need to be wrapped in foil.
