megan~ wow! i don't know what i enjoyed most: what your wearing or your wonderful spirit/happy post/great fun that emanates from your post. i get the sense that you love wearing clothes and have fun with them, it just jumps off the pages! you rock, girl! go get 'em! oh yeah! it sounds beautiful!
your blue and white dress sounds lovely too! lucky that you can wear both a jacket and a ballet flat! i have to stay away from multiple layers. ;p your ensemble sounds fresh as spring!
i am currently wearing a pair of short shorts for running and a black sports bra. hair in ponytail. ;p this is my usual daytime uniform. *coghliquideyeliner&pinklips&mascaracough* yep, i wear makeup even for running, heck it's on within an hour of waking up.
Thankyou ilibaby & Courneykane! I DO have fun with clothes and feel very cute today! (and shoes...but that's a whole 'nother story)
AND - I used to wear mascara to put on metal roofs when that was my summer job (full makeup was silly since it would run off my face anyhow - otherwise I probably would have!) - so it's ok to wear makeup anytime! haha
One of my closest friends is an engineer for a Clark Construction and she added a place on her tool belt for her mascara and lip gloss for when she's on-site.
hi girls, thank you for the makeup stories, i loved them! LOL does anyone remember that seinfeld episode of the girl with 2 faces? she look good sometimes, other times..notsomuch? well, that is my with or without makeup story. ;p sofia loren once said: all she is she owes to spaghetti? well, me? clothes and makeup. yep, smoke and mirrors, people! smoke and mirrors! meghan, oh yaay! you posted a photo! girl, everything is hugging all the right places! and you're so pretty~ that looks like a banana republic blouse i had my eye on but by the time it was "shopping time" it was gone. i love orange, very happy color, and it looks great on you. where did you get the belt?! i love the combination of colors together. the only orange thing in my closet right now is a leather bag.
Bernermommy, I'm glad you're liking capris, and your outfit sounds comfy but cute!
Meghan, what a great outfit! That belt really is awesome. I have my eye on wide patent black leather belt from Ann Taylor. I've been using my brother's rugged brown cowboy belt for way too long...
Speaking of my brother's hand-me downs, today I did quite a bit of packing, so I wore black yoga pants, flips, and my brother's BMT tee-shirt that has a bull-dog on the back with the words: "Come get some!" But, I still did my hair and put on eyeliner. I thought I was just insane, but it seems like it's a "woman" thing. I don't feel so bad now.
Today was WAY too pretty to be stuck inside, so my friend and I decided to run around Philly for the day... Got to go to Urban Outfitters, which I never get to go to, and we checked out all the fun little goofy stuff we can buy when we move into our apartment in a month or so. Then we went to Lush, which is hands down the best skincare store I've found so far in life- money just seems to walk out of my wallet there.
I decided instead of the usual jeans-and-tank-top look I run around in, I went a little cuter... Teal blue knee length v neck cotton short sleeve dress with empire waist ties at either side, a light pink ribbed tank underneath, and these shoes, which shockingly let me cover the entire city without a blister, sore foot, or wonky knee to complain of. I've worn them for work a couple times, but this was the first time I've really put them through their paces to walk in, and they worked beautifully. I paired all that with a bright yellow leather hobo bag and big brown sunglasses.
Funkygem, I like that you described your outfit bottom to top - I have such trouble visualizing descriptions of outfits but your bottom up worked for me! It sounds like it was a winner!
Meghan, I must say when I read the description of your outfit, I couldn't get a handle on what the look was like but when you posted the photo, I thought 'wow' that looks great! I especially like the colour of the top. It pops the whole outfit, no wonder you felt so wonderful!!
Even though I have trouble visualizing some of the outfits described, I still like to read the posts. You can feel everyone's enthusiasm when they feel well put together and that is what we are going for!
I am not wearing anything cute today b/c I was watching my best friend's 2 year old. We played at the park and with sidewalk chalk and she dumped the liquid bubble stuff everywhere (especially on me), so I'm glad I was just wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
Illibaby, I love that Seinfeld episode! I, too, enjoy my makeup b/c I am blonde and pale and look very plain and young w/o it. That being said, there was no makeup today so I looked like I was 15. I had a dentist appointment at the begining of the week when I was also wearing no makeup w/hair in a pony tail and the dentist asked me "what year" I was in school. When I told her I was in my second year of law school, she told me she thought that I was still in high school!
Meghan, your outfit is totally cute I would have never thought to pair the coral shirt w/the skirt, but it definately works. I never know how to wear a belt over a skirt w/o belt buckles, but it really works for you.
Siepres, looking over old posts, I thought I read you were doing something with a draft of a book. Are you in the process of writing one? How awesome!
Shoediva, I am indeed trying to write a book. I've written about 1/3 to 1/2 of it already (so far it's 135 pages). I just went back through and rewrote a good bit because I changed my mind about a character. I want to be finished by the end of July, so I can start looking for a publisher. Assuming it's any good, that is.
FYI - the coral shirt is from Target - 17.99 can't beat it!! And - I just bought it this week - they also have a brown one just like it - that I'm really trying not to buy. I will buy my favorite shirt in every color if I'm not careful.
The belt was from New York & Company a couple years ago..
Today is a little more low key - even though I do have meetings with clients. I feel cute though - casual but put together. I'm an interior designer - so I can get away with wearing a lot of different stuff. I know not everyone likes dressed up shorts - but I LOVE these.

MeghanR, I know exactly what shirt you are talking about, because I have had my eye on the light pink color for awhile, although I now may be converted to the coral color. How did you find the shirt to fit? Did you find the arms to be too tight? It's sad, I know, but I almost exclusively shop online since we don't have much here and gas has gotten so out of control...anyhooo, if you could tell me how it fits, I would be eternally grateful.
Today I am wearing these shorts in black. They're actually the first Bermudas I've ever worn. I thought with my short legs they wouldn't be flattering, but I tried them on and was surprised by how cute they are. I like that they aren't too wide but aren't super tapered either.
I am wearing a rayon blouse very similar to this one . I've had this blouse for years, it is black with little tan flowers with red centers.
And I am wearing black wedge sandals that have a thong top like these shoes and a gold "cork" wedge heel like these shoes. (Hmm. It seems that to see the heel I'm talking about you need to ckick on the black suede or patent version.)
Wore this running errands - grocery shopping and at the mall.
Red t-shirt Lane Bryant right fit jeans - bootcut, dark wash Pointy toe brown flats Violet clutch Violet rhinestone cuff bracelet Multi strand, multi color, beaded necklace Kick butt red lipstick Sparkly raspberry nail polish Short sleeve denim jacket (in case it got chilly)

Ilfaith, I tried on those shorts! The pockets poofed on my hips, but they were very comfortable.
Loveshistory, what a great outfit! That clutch is really wonderful. I have developed a love of purple accessories the last few months.
Today, I went shopping with my mom for a while, and I bought a beautiful white skirt for only $13! I wore my favorite gray skirt, black/white print shirt from H&M, my new Naturalizer Sherene espadrilles in black, pink bag, pink nail polish, navy stone necklace, and silver charm bracelet.
The lighting in my bathroom wasn't the best today and after looking at the outfit a second time not quite sure but here goes (getting ready to run to the mall, Lowe's, etc.)
Brown pinstripe linen pants Brown, white, and magenta flowered linen tank magenta shrug brown sandals
I'm also posting a couple of different looks with different shoes.

hi, pretty girlie! i'd love to cast my vote on the last photo. great colors on you, qvcdiva! siepres, your outfit sounds lovely! loveshistory, you sure know your colors! you look radiant~ ilfaith, cute outfit, too!
1st off, I'm now on the hunt for a magenta (or other brightly coloured) shrug! I give you uber credit for dressing so nicely for the hardware store! I think the shrug looks equally good open or closed. Open is more casual and carefree, closed is more 'going to a meeting'.
It's hard to tell the difference in the shoes.. I like the last shoes the best with that outfit. They show the most skin and I think that's a nice added touch at the bottom of the pant.
