LastCaress, I really like the ombre of the dress and it looks like it really goes with your coloring. It's a great style on you too - a winner all round

Thank you! I had to look up "ombre," lol, so I'm guessing you mean the brown and orange one?

Hey all, I wore this to school, shopping, and then to a midnight play: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=8265198Unfotunately, our 80 degree weather of Thurs turned to cold weather in the high 30's by last night. Brrrrrr...... Stay tuned for recent shopping purchases When I have time, I'll take some pics.

I should rephrase that, I wear several pretty colourful things, but maybe it's just skirts I'm pretty unsure of. I always want neutral bottoms and then I can put prints and/or colours on top. I tried a berry/fushia pencil at H&M and I couldn't bring myself to buy it (well I wouldn't because the fit wasn't right, but even if it was I wouldn't have) quote: ...why not?! Sweetheart you are too young and too beautiful not to~ let me let you in on a secret: sometimes confidence dressing up is something you get 'after' the fact. you wear something hoping it'll work out but you have the hunch it will (but you're too shy to give it a go). well, you wear it, you hear from someone that it looks good, and voila: you got confidence. rinse and repeat. i was 40 before i got it, get it now while you're young so you can enjoy dressing up every day. don't put yourself in a box of 'don't's'. you're young, you're beautiful, put yourself in a box of 'oh heck yes i will'!
I kind of think I'm getting there, trying a lot more things and acting "as if" I am the most confident person in the world or that I think I am hot stuff...and that does rub off on the rest of the world, and then you really do feel like you are gorgeous and not just faking it. I am also reaching outside the rules (gasp!) and finding that I like some of these things ALOT and I think I still look fabulous, so there! Like today (link to come)... wearing a shirt that does not have a defined waist, well guess what, it looks good because it is the shirt that is that big and not me. I felt like a celeb or model or something today and that is what matters to me.

You look smashing, Amethyst! Love the pops of yellow and turquoise with that beautiful printed shirt. Accessories make that outfit happy Here is the first of a few dresses that I bought. Remember how I said I bought two navy ones online? Well the shirtdress didn't work...the lining was so thick it felt like a winter coat! It was super cute, so if it's still around for fall, maybe I'll consider it then. But here's the other one. I think it fits me well and I LOVE how comfy the material is: http://s485.photobucket.com/albums/rr217/shoediva84/?ac...rrent=Picture085.jpgI'll be posting a few more from ones I actually picked out in the store. I like this one a lot, and it was only $14.99. The fabric seems breatheable, and the color (navy) goes well w/my colored shoes. You likey?

Wore to a friend's house to have coffee with her. I think the top would go better with my skinny jeans (ON Flirt) rather than these (Gap Essential). I think I just wore this around the house. Maybe another friend came over for coffee that day. I can't remember! Wore to go on a couple of errands. Wore around the house. I also finally figured out the self timer on my camera, so hopefully from this picture on I should be able to take them in a brighter area!

Thanks, ladies! The dress is from Macy's clearance racks, back in December.
shoediva, I love low-cost fabulousness, and I love your dress. You are all leg, and the yellow shoes are great. And I love the midnight play outfit. I love neutrals that show off the design of a piece. I think that sometimes a bright color can draw attention away from design. In your case, I think the pieces have a lot of character and show themselves beautifully. (Listen to me ramble on like I actually know something, lol.)
Amethyst, you look very sophisticated, yet approachable. And you rock that yellow bag from the OT thread.
miltonia, I love the bright red/fuchsia (yikes, that's hard to spell) with the turquoise peep-toe, and the orange necklace with the blue shirt.
You all look fantastic!

loving the outfits for this weekend, dayum! AJ, lovvved the top with the skinny jeans~ miltonia: fantastic jeans! both of them! loved the white top outfit. you gotta show those shoulders more often, girl. shoediva: beautiful outfits to go out and your new dress~ i love wearing navy with leather color (like the glads color) and wood accesories in different colors. i don't know why navy gets such a bad wrap of being difficult to wear. ;p lastcaress the ombre dress sure is eyecatching, and ombre is very popular right now, great color on you too.

Here's what I wore for a casual Sunday brunch followed by a long walk on the beach with DH and the dog today. Brunch Okay I did change the shoes to Skechers for the beach because it is rocky, and I had to fold the jeans under, but the sandals are comfortable enough to walk in for long periods. I was trying to save wearing them until at least the beginning of May because they are white, but they are so cute, I couldn't resist them any longer.

Thanks diva. I like the new dress. It does look both comfy and pretty. Miltonia, love the pink shirt with the belt. I think the colour is good for you. I think it works okay with those jeans because it is belted making it slim on top and not shapeless. Let us know if you try it with the ONflirt. It would be interesting to compare. Is that the jeans in your around the house (second) outfit? I also really like your other around the house outfit (fourth). Of course, I do love blue and orange. And I agree with ili, your shoulders and arms are awesome and you rock the halter top! Thank you LastCaress. I do love my new purse. I am really glad I got it! I'm glad you say I look approachable, because sometimes I wonder if I look a bit snobbish since I dress "up" compared to a lot of people I encounter every day. Thank you ili. That is one of my rule breaker tops. I said forget the rules, I'm attracted to this, and I'm going to rock it! I can tell that it is the shirt that is big and not me (of course skinny jeans are a must - or it would look like I was just big!) Great outfit buffy. I love the colours you put together and the sandals look great, definately something I would buy.... Okay my kitty is headbutting my hands as I type so I think I better tell you Salem Vincent says hi...uh oh, he's sitting on my wrists! I'll be back with my outfit!

Yesterday was so hot that I changed into this in between my morning and evening commitments. Here is today: WIWT to church soooo cold. I was wearing shorts yesterday and then today I got home and put on an even warmer sweater (so I'm wearing a nice enough sweater and jeans (and a blanket and a kitty as a lap and arm warmer.)

buffy, your combination of rust and blue is fantastic. I like the detail on the cardi and the color of the belt. And I don't think that sneakers would take away from the outfit, especially not on the beach. Amethyst, I love the length of the shorts in #1, and #2 is just pure sophistication. I also left you comments on MyCloset. Here's what I wore today to my inlaws' for Sunday dinner: http://www.mycloset.com/my_closet/outfit/?oid=2709&e=sI followed some suggestions for a more tailored look, and I think I may have saved this cardi! I also had a structured black purse with it (pres, don't kill me!!), but I did have a mimosa change purse clipped to it, lol. I would have tied a scarf instead, but I haven't graduated that far yet.

Love that ombre dress, LC. I think the belt saves that cardigan, but I don't know if I'd do lime green and a red belt. A brown belt and pewter shoes may have worked better, IMHO. But you are on the right track, and you look great with belts! Watch out, though, belting becomes addictive, hehe. My husband said sarcastically the other day when I asked him if a dress looked better belted "Oh, belting makes EVERYTHING better," LOL.

Thanks, shoediva! <3 And I agree, belting has become addictive. Over the weekend, my mother and I got together, and it turned out that she still had her belts from the 70s, in perfect condition! The red one is one of them. Too bad that she didn't have a brown one, lol. Otherwise, ohhh what a lovely treasure trove it was. Still kicking myself from throwing out a pair of pewter shoes in 2002. "I'll never find anything to MATCH these," I thought.

This is what I wore today: http://s485.photobucket.com/albums/rr217/shoediva84/?ac....jpg&t=1240813447371The dress and belt are new. I didn't really NEED a new belt, but when I show you the details on this baby, you will just not believe the price tag of $25 (and it's real leather, too). I see from this photo, however, that the tights just don't work w/the yellow shoes. It just looks "off." BTW, this dress looks much better in RL...it seems to have lost its personality in this photo. I'll have to try it with different accessories later in the week.

Sorry to have posted my pictures and disappeared; my internet connection was kind of intermittent the last couple of days. Things I meant to say: LastCaress: That watercolor convertible looks so flowy and pretty. I like the brown and orange one too, and I have a similar pair of shoes Shoediva: you are getting a ton of use out of those pewter ruffle shoes! How's their comfort level? Everytime I've tried on shoes at Target my feet scream. AJ: I really like that b&w top, and the turquoise/yellow combination with the shoes and purse. I have lately been putting turquoise and pink together a lot, and have a scarf with those colors and yellow and really like the combination, which surprises me, but I guess taking my wardrobe from neutral to color is going to yield a lot of nice surprises! Answers to comments/questions: Last Caress: Re: orange and turquoise. Yet another color combination I am happily surprised with. The necklace is similar to one I saw in a JCrew catalogue, only much, much cheaper! Ili & AJ: Once it actually gets warm here for more than a day, you all will wonder if I never stop showing my shoulders I wear tank tops all the time in summer. AJ: no, the jeans in the around the house picture(s) are my Daisy Fuentes jeans. I'm wearing my ON Flirt jeans today, and hopefully I'll get a chance to take a picture. The DF jeans have been the ones I've worn pretty much all winter. Note: they are darker than they appear.

AJ: those beige pants have a great shape. they'd look great with a simple buttonfront, a belt and chunky bracelets. very versatile! Brightest: loved the yellow dress. aren't sunglasses great? i notice you have several pairs. shoediva: dang, what an awesome dress and belt! *wolf whistle* yesterday for sunday dinner hosting~look, ma, different prints! *g*: http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o213/ileana65/clothe...ensembles/005-25.jpg

Hey, ladies! LC - love those dresses on you! Especially that brown/orange one. Sunshine - great outfits and accessories!! Shoediva - you look great in dresses! Buffy - love the brunch outfit. Great color combo! OK, and I really like everything else I saw! I'm wearing this today to run some errands, then lay on my hammock. I'll have to change into pants later when I go bowling.

Wore to church; had nursery duty. Same outfit without the jacket. What I find amusing is that I am wearing the shirt backwards. I wanted to layer because it was cold out, and I wanted bright colors because it was dreary. But this top has a lower back and a higher front so I thought it would look odd worn the right way. So I switched it. Todayto go to a playgroup-type-thing with my son and then just at home. I think I'm a walking Old Navy & Gap advertisement in this outfit. ON Flirt jeans, ON gray lace v-neck cami, ON scarf, Gap cardi and hat.

Purude, love the plaid top w/the jean skirt. It looks a bit long, though, so you might try tucking it in or belting it for a different look. Very cute Miltonia, love that scarf, it brings the casual outfit to chic-ville.

Thanks! I actually wavered a lot on the scarf. I really liked it, but I had thought I wanted a solid turquoise one. I kept both of them in my shopping cart the whole time I was at ON. I didn't want to get both and have two scarves that were so similar, so ended up with the print. I am glad I did! It's been just over a week since I got it and I've worn it these two times already, and I think one other time.

Thanks for the clarification on gladiators and skirt length! wifeybug, good to know I'm not the only one that has 'slipping strapless' issues. I don't like br@s right now but from now on I will wear a strapless br@ with this dress because I do love the dress! AJ - I couldn't see your 4/24 outfit. Brightest - re: 4/24 outfit. It must be spring where you live because your outfits are always so springy and cheery! Ili, beautiful pink skirt! I like the richness of the colour and I see what you mean by skirt length and glads! LastCaress - cute strapless dresses! Especially the ombre! shoediva, I like your black jacket. Is it really from ON? AJ re: 4/25, another pair of turquoise shoes! I like them! shoediva, the dress of 4/25 is cute. I like the neckline. It's very flattering. Miltonia, I see your turquoise shoes of 4/22. Me like! (I like the outfit too!). Actually, I liked all the outfits you posted except the one of 4/25 but that was to hang around the house! Love the necklace on that day though! buffy - the Sunday brunch outfit is very nice. I like the detail on the cardi and I like the wedges! LastCaress - good save on the white cardi but I don't think I would have gone with a red belt. Brown maybe? Hey shoediva, I really like today's dress and belt and shoes! Cute! Cute! Brightest - The 25th, 26th and 27th outfits are all cute. My favourite is today's - I like the earth tones. Ili, re: Sunday dinner outfit, IMHO, that is your best outfit ever! Purdue, I want a hammock! That denim skirt fits well. I bet you use it as a base for a lot of outfits. Miltonia, I think I like all the outfits you post - although I'm not nuts about the ball cap! Zebra April 27th

Wow -- everyone is in full-on spring (or summer in the case of Arizona) mode now and looking great. AJ, your outfits are getting more sophisticated. Shoediva & Purdue, you’ve got cute & fun down pat. BrightSunshine, I wish I had been a stylish as you when I was in highschool. Ili, hot hot hot as usual. Zebra, I think that is my favourite outfit of yours also. LastCaress, nice dresses. And everyone else, well, you know you look good, right? Here is my day-off errand outfit: April 27 I’d already taken off the accessories before I took the picture, sorry, but there was a floral print scarf and a large wooden bangle. p.s. LastCaress, my last outfit was melon orange and blue -- did the orange look rust coloured on your computer? Just curious, because if so, I will start naming the colours in case they come out differently on different computers.

Thank you all for the comments on the outfit! I always thought coral was one of my worse colours but maybe not! I saw the cardi in a weekend sale flyer and it seriously caught my eye. I couldn't believe how cute it was when I tried it on. I bought the necklace to 'go with it'. LOL!!! shoediva, the jacket really caught my eye and I haven't seen one like it here at our ON. Makes sense seeing as it was from Kohl's (which we don't have here!) Miltonia, I've had my share of necessary 'hat' days! I don't want to be a zealot or anything but maybe some 'fashion hair' would be cool to have! I know having 'fashion hair' has cut 30 minutes from my morning routine and my 'hair' is always styled! I still think everyone should have at least one 'fashion hair' in case of 'emergency'! Miltonia, I saw that coral and turquoise spread too. I only wish they showed some outfits. In fact, I didn't really see many pieces that you could put together to make outfits. The point of the spread seems to be 'coral and turqoise - go'. buffy, just so you know, on my computer, your Sunday brunch tops looked pale orange and BRIGHT blue. Today's outfit looks turquoise and coral.

Finally! I've been trying to post all day, but it just kept asking me to log in over and over! Zebra - love, love, love, love, love yesterday's outfit! The colors! The print! All of it!! And today's pink gladiators are gorgeous! Buffy - Great colors! So springy! I bet the scarf looked great. Shoediva - The scarf added some fun to the outfit. I really need to invest in some scarves, but when I see them in the store I can't decide which one(s) to get. I wore this today . I probably could've used a scarf for some color! I had to wear closed toe shoes because I didn't have any nail polish on my toes.

Thanks LC. Love your dinner outfit. Left you comments too (and comments in my outfits you commented on - in particular the printed shirt outfit and shorts outfit). Diva that dress is so cute, Love the neckline. Nice outfits sunshine. I love the shopping outfit the most. Ili, I have been planning on trying to belt a buttonfront. I just got a red skinny belt that would be perfect! I could do that tomorrow I guess. I already picked out my outfit though...but I`ll keep it in mind if it`s too cold for my short sleeved jacket (not sure if the pants are clean now though!). And great outfit and pattern mixing. Purdue, looking very spring-y. Miltonia - there`s that turquoise, pink and yellow. You are right about it being unexpected but great combo. Love the shirt with the square neck backwards! Here is 4/24 again (don't know why it didn't work for you). Zee, love that circle cardi. So fresh and springy Thanks buffy, that is the point...so I am taking in what I am learning here Love the colours in your day off outfit. Diva, cute litte scarf and there are those sandals again...(4/28) I am also enjoying the weather every day I can. And zee...there is my fav necklace again and love the pink gladiators. Here is yesterday

You all look lovely--as usual. Thanks so much for the compliments on the dresses! I felt like I was taking a bit of a risk on both of them. I'm glad that they turned out well. Unfortunately, I don't have a brown belt that the cardi will support, and I don't want to do black. buffycan--RE: orange & turquoise: with my computer settings, the color of the cardi looked a little bit more rusty/orange than the inside of a cantaloupe, in a similar hue with your belt. That's probably not very well worded--I think the outfit looks great! Your errand outfit is great, too. You look fantastic in coral and turquoise--it's great with your complexion and hair. shoediva--I think that brown dress is lovely. The collar and sleeves add great character. You have great legs and lovely, slim ankles. The belt is great, too. I like the worked leather a lot. And I looove Tuesday's shoes. I think it's awesome that you dressed up for your hubby. ilibaby--Wow! Fabulous monochromatic! (So THAT's how it's done...) ntuitive--That is a beautifully shaped cardi, and I like the large print & colors, too! And the detail on that dark jacket...yum. Does it flare out a bit, though? BrightestSunshine--I love, love, love how you do color in all your weekend outfits. I'm crazy about the yellow sundress. I also really like how you paired the rich jewel tone with a lighter green, and accented it with the neutral animal print. qvcdiva--I like the pattern on your top. I have a shirt very much like it. And the shape of those peep-toe shoes is very, very flattering. purdue--I really like the black & tan combination. The shirt hits in just the right place, and you've got a great hourglass going there. I also like the black flats, there's something about them. Miltonia--Switching that shirt around makes for an awesome neckline. I really like what you did with the scarf and white shirt underneath. And the jacket is a great cut. zebra--Wow! Wow! *wide eyes* You look absolutely fantastic! The colors, the lengths, the structures--just WOW! I think that's your best one. And I agree with Amethyst--those pink glads and necklace are gorgeous. Amethyst--That red top is my new favorite shirt. I love the cut. Your waist is tiny! The sleeves are very feminine. I can't say enough good stuff about this outfit. It brings out your inner shine. [Edit:] Wow, I didn't realize how long this post was. I'm sorry if I made anyone's eyes hurt, lol. I just thought that you all look great, and I wanted to let you know.
