Wow diva, another necklace for me to covet and it looks so good with purple. That may sway my judgment, but that could be my fave.
Emge, gorgeous green, and yes, that is one long scarf!
I need to look for those links on ways to tie a scarf because I seem to have only one way per scarf it seems -though large rectangles like pashminas I seem to work better with!
I didn't take a pic today and the jacket is new (and freed me to get rid of one that I was holding on to because I probably bought it in Jan or Feb, but it wasn't perfect - which btw worked much better for my mother who was so happy to have a new modern red jacket and rid herself of the one that was my great grandmother's). I am so happy with my new red cord jacket from H&M and my mom is happy and I am relieved that I can let the older one go as I wouldn't have been able to without this jacket - and the store credit to get it!

oh, I'm loving the beautiful fall outfits on here ladies! I've always loved fall colors and fabrics... and layering! I've been taking pictures: red dress w/ black peep toes this dress went in the donation pile as soon as I got home! The wrap kept flying open all day, good thing I wore a slip! gray cardi, green tank, caramel trousers a new color combo for me... I think I like it! denim straight skirt, brown boots, purple sweater and brown cami The proportions are wrong on this outfit... I think I like the long sweater better with jeans jeans on Friday my ruffle sweater returns! I'm loving this piece - plan to wear it to death this fall shopping shopping view 2 the only way I can wear yellow So the jeans look a little bunched up in the photos, I didn't notice that when I put them on. I really loved this color combo, the jeans with the teal sweater, brown jacket, and mustard bag. my favorite dress Something not quite right about this outfit, I think its the dark tights with the white top. Thoughts on other ways to wear this dress this fall? another new color combo tan skirt, gray tights, gray cardi, teal corsage top. a view of the top/cardi/ and added necklace first date outfit venue was a locally owned coffee shop. Jeans, purple t, green jacket, burgundy pumps.

Britt, you look like the ladies on WNTW, after S&C have done their magic.
About the dress; the prob is at the hem, which is a meh length. Try it shorter. Also, the cute shirt/rosettes combo is not being supported well by the dark tights and classic shoes. Too much interest above for the low-key below.
Try ribbed tights (with the pattern visible) and higher heeled T-straps or some other embellished shoe. Maybe studded boots.

I should have checked my links earlier, now I cant edit! Here is gray cardi, green tank, caramel trousersThanks for your comments pres! I agree, now that the "favorite dress" is worn with tights, it needs to be shorter. I purposefully didn't hem it when I got it, as the length was 'just' below the knee and I thought it would shrink (100% cotton) but I agree, its still too long

Britt - love the denim skirt with boots look. I am planning to do it soon as I can find my tights! Great jeans on friday and you should wear that sweater like crazy! Those jeans fit sooooo well too. Looking good! Work last week. Have found a new colour combo - brown and red, love it! I was going to wear jeans but then I thought about people saying not to wear denim on denim (even though it wouldn't have been black on black). I'm glad I did go back and change or I wouldn't have discovered this colour combo. I've been dying to wear my retro outfit again - actually only a couple days later - but I hadn't done laundry yet. Will again very soon and so happy to have clothes that I love that much and every day should feel that good!

Thanksgiving day (and something I will definitely be adding to my work wardrobe). Very nice Pomomojo. Can you give my bf a hint? (I am secretly making him over bit by bit ha).

Brittnhoney, I LOVE that dress, and those cardigan/pants combos. I think you got me hooked on cardigans last year, LOL. Amethyst, I LOVETH that thanksgiving day look! The other look with the purple tights is very cute, too. Pommojo, now THAT is how a guy should do casual chic! I love this look so much. I've been looking to no avail for dark wash jeans for my hubby. I've ordered and taken back a few pairs because they are either too wide or too skinny. It's difficult to find a straight leg, dark wash jean with no fading for men! Anyways, you look great.

I thought this was funny. I haven't perfected my wardrobe the way most of you have, but I'm trying. Anyway, today I wore a new brown tweed blazer over a dark brown cami with a brown skirt and a multi-strand red necklace. I'm afraid it is something a true fashionista would find boring, but I had someone ask me if I were going on an interview! That's how casual our workplace has become - my little outfit looks like an interview ensemble compared to the what the majority of employees are schlepping around in!

I don't normally post on this thread, as I don't feel like my outfits are usually that exciting, but I'm feeling super cute today. I'm wearing my all-time favorite dark was Gap Essential jeans (they're a wide-leg 5-pocket style that Gap has DISCONTINUED! Argh!!), a fuschia fitted t-shirt (Target), with a black merino wool cardigan worn open (Banana Republic), and a new long necklace from Ann Taylor Loft. The necklace is really what takes the outfit from "a shirt and pants" to an outfit. I'm really having fun (re)discovering jewelry!

I know!! David Kahn has jeans with a similar cut, but the rise is about an inch lower and they're more than twice as expensive. I'm contemplating doing a search on ebay and buying another pair....

ugg, I have pictures to post, but they will have to wait for another day... I just wanted to chime in to elly (and miltonia) that I just saw some Gap Essential jeans at a local Gap Outlet store! I saw your post earlier this week and thought of you today when I saw them ilibaby, you look amazing, as usual! Love the hair. Not sure about the bracelet combo, can I see a close-up of that? At first I thought you had a brace on your arm (that's probably glass of wine number three talking...)

I love reading this thread and seeing all of you express your styles. Can't really say much more than you guys look great, and you keep looking even better! Here are two outfits that I've been putting off photographing: Gray skinny jeans. I'm trying out this whole "statement sock" thing. I'm trying to wear the cowl-neck as a sort of scarf... Is it working, or does it look like I'm making my shoes match the top instead? ATL ripoff. I wanted the clothes on the mannequin--but (I can't believe I'm saying this) I didn't want to be so...beige. Did I do OK with this one? Thanks in advance. Today, I finally got to play with my clothes (as opposed to jeans'n'tees for work), so I'm probably going to spam the forum a bit...

Smokin' ili, as always. Love the hair! Wish I could grow mine. LC left comments. (aside: I have 13 announcements after no activity lately! yay ) Shoediva, is this your headband day? The link didn't work at first, but I found the same image number. I love your argyle sweater outfit and that dress! Even better that you got it for such a steal (but I have learned that it's not a deal if you wouldn't have bought it otherwise - but I know you would that is great!) WIW yesterday to a wedding my red cord jacket outfit if anyone is interested in seeing the pieces (and click for larger pics).

great color on you, AJ~ i don't think i've seen you wear that hue before, fantastic with your skin/hair color. haha, britt, too funny! i took a photo of the cuffs, they're 3 wide ones i got as a gift from my cousin in PR last month. i am loving wearing something that makes a statement (a big ring last year, this year cuffs) instead of several or smaller items. http://i121.photobucket.com/al...0ensembles/001-4.jpgshoediva i love how you go from look to look effortlessly and you rock em all. i like to channel different vibes as well. thank you for reminding me i have the same red maggy london dress and i haven't worn it yet this fall, it's time to take it out for a spin! ;p today i hosted sunday dinner for my extended family and i wore an oleg cassini silk dress i bought 2 years ago at nordies pre-season sale for fall. LP brown patent leather mary janes and belt from Zara. no jewelry since i was in the kitchen. http://i121.photobucket.com/al...sembles/019-10-1.jpg

Sometimes I am really jealous of your climate! We've had snow here TWICE already (it didn't stick) and I'm thinking winter outfits, and here you are, in warm-weather clothing. Hmph. Seriously though, looks great.

miltonia and cheryle, you are giving me tights and boots fever! tomorrow temps are going to significantly drop for a couple of days due to a strong storm system from alaska that will be settling over the southwest. looks like i will be able to play dress-up for a couple of days. miltonia, i moved to arizona from NY because i just couldn't take the cold! ;p some are cold weather folks, some aren't, i'm in the latter group! congratulations, you are looking fantastic.

Ilibaby, LOVE that new wide belt. And those skinny jeans are unbelievably fabulous!!! You MUST make those a regular in your wardrobe! They look great with your plain white button down, but man I'll bet you can wear them with just about anything. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Cheryle, you look lovely in all those dresses, I'm smitten over those pearls! What ballet did you go see? I'll bet you had fun looking so glamorous. Zee, OMGosh, those necklaces that you layer are fantastic!!! I like all the outfits, but especially the boyfriend blazer one. It's just so chic! And that polka dot blouse/moto jacket is such an unexpected look. I love that creativity

Wow, you ladies look great! Zebra, you're definitely back with a vengeance. Love the scarves. Love all the outfits, actually (have you tried argyle tights with that one?). Ili, you're fabulous as always. How do you make it look so effortless??? (Also, I'm stealing those cuffs one of these nights, lol!) Cheryle, you rock the dresses and the high-waist pencil. Miltonia, love the UK-inspired funky style you're sporting lately. Brittnhoney, you know your style inspires me. I love the way you reinvent your outfits. And Shoediva--oh, yes, I've been bitten, lol. Love your outfits, too, and especially those peep-toe mary janes! Great minds, eh? Thanks everyone for the compliments on my latest. Today I decided to be a bit adventurous, so I wore this for errands: http://www.mycloset.com/my_clo...utfit2/?oid=3963&e=swith the taller boots and a cami. Might be odd, but it felt good. I know I posted it recently, but I rarely stick stuff in this thread, so there!

Z--that moto jacket definitely goes with that "edgy" vibe you posted about wanting a few months ago.

thank you so much, shoediva, miltonia, homeschoolmama & lastcaress, the skinny jeans are a new look for me. in fact, i was trying on my daughter's to see whether they'd be worth exploring~ it took some doing to make them work, (it's not easy, it's a matter of how tim gunn says: "make it work" and that meant high heels (because my legs are short) and a blouse that covers the right amount of thigh, ha ha lastcaress i've been thinking a lot about the 'effortless' look you mentioned and i've come up with a way of explaining. first off: it's not effortless, it's what i call 'purposeful'. when i decide on a certain look or vibe for the season (i like to change with every new season, i find it fun) i concentrate on the vibe first and foremost~ last year it was all about Mad Men, so my pencil skirts and retro dresses had to go with retro looking hair and makeup. to me the clothes support but the hair and the accesories have to come into play as well. this year i wanted an edgier (yet mid 1970s) look, and i liked what Victoria Beckham was doing, plain dresses, short hair, big sunglasses and smoky eye makeup. also, instead of buying tons of clothes at one time i pick and choose certain items that can update what i already have to make it do what i want. chunky jewelry and studded shoes (along with my short boy hairdo) was enough to make most of the vibe without spending a lot of money. so in short: (too late!) it helps to have a certain idea in your mind and work your outfits to support it. it got colder today. http://i121.photobucket.com/al...%20ensembles/051.jpg

I understand...while I know skinnies can be worn with flats, I personally stay away from it (unless it's tall boots) because I think it would look funny on me (I'm 5'2 1/2").

my issue more than anything is that i have wide hips and a cuban behind. if you're short without extra padding you can still rock the skinny jeans & flats (kate moss, nicole ritchie), but i'm not one of them, LOL Zara wool dress. this color didn't work out for me until i dyed my hair black. funny what a little color can do. i tried it on a whim while in PR because i loved the shape and i couldn't believe the color worked. http://i121.photobucket.com/al...0ensembles/028-2.jpg
