Hi, I just wanted to mention something based on a tip I received from Dancingstarr. She suggested I try the B&B Straight to deal with the frizz problem I've been battling since I cut my hair. While I was in the salon picking this product up, I also bought some moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with coconut milk in it. This shampoo is FANTASTIC! MY DH used it today too, and his silver hair is very shiny today. Quite noticeable. What happened with my hair is that I have more volume than even before, but there is a major shine factor going on which I like. I used the B&B 'Straight' to deal with the frizz and it really does seem to help. Perhaps next time I'll use more and try to get things really under control in the volume department. Anyway, if you are wanting to try out new hair care products, you might give Bumble and Bumble a try! And to Dancingstarr - thanks again! VAVA
Oh, Vava, I'm so glad that you found something that you liked! I've been a little swamped and haven't had time to check in here.
I want to get some of Bumble and Bumble's shampoo and conditioner myself. They have such nice products.
About the Straight, I use a fair amount of it, more than you'd think, kind of two squirts, one on the top of my hair and one on the bottom, but I have thick hair, like you, and then comb it through with a wide-tooth comb, to distribute it evenly. For me, then I let my hair air dry a while until it is at least half dry...then I blow it dry with a round brush and a paddle brush until it is dry completely. No dampness left at all or you'll frizz (unless you have been thermally reconditioned).
(I know a lot of this board uses flat irons, and they are great for special occasions, but I believe that they will ultimately damage hair and make it harder to keep it smooth and shiny on a regular basis.)
