This was my first full week at my new job. I found out that on Fridays we can wear jeans, but the catch is we have to wear a shirt with the school name on it or our school colors (which are red and white). Today I wore my red turtleneck with my white down vest. But that's all I have in my wardrobe that will work. I was thinking of getting a polo with the school's name on it, then I could put a turtleneck or tee underneath when it's cold and wear just the polo when it's warmer. I could also get a cardi to go over my white buttonfront shirt, for a few different options. I'd really love some ways that are more creative though, mine seem a bit on the boring side. Any ideas as to what I could put together that would be fashionable, yet show my school spirit?
You're probably not allowed to smoke, but maybe something like this?

I was looking for a plain long sleeve t-shirt with a neckline that would look good with a scarf - so you could either go with red shirt/white scarf, or white shirt/red scarf. But I couldn't find a shirt I thought would look good with a scarf. I did find a cute red scarf and a cute white t-shirt, though, at Old Navy (i.e., cheap ), so here they are - maybe someone better at this can pair them with something.
If you get a polo with the school's name on it, you can wear the same thing every Friday. Otherwise, you could go broke trying to be creative every Friday - for what? I'd rather spend my "creative" money for things I would wear somewhere besides jean day at school.
Thanks, I like the scarves idea. I'm not going to buy very many items for this. I was just looking for a couple different ideas to rotate so I don't have to wear the same thing every Friday. =)
If you get a polo from the school, make sure it is cut for a woman's body or tailor it. Nothing makes any school employee look dowdier than a boxy polo, even if everything else is nice. I would recommend the scarves as well. However, I have seen that one from old navy in person and it is really cheapie and more of a summer scarf, so I don't know why they just put them out. They are like a cotton gauze. Maybe you could go with a classic red/white/black tartan or argyle scarf for winter or an argyle sweater vest in those colors to spice it up a bit. Then you could just wear those pieces with your existing pieces and switch it up. The warmer months would be harder, but you could achieve the same effect with a long silk scarf draped down the front of your button down or a white t-shirt.
