Oh my goodness, I LOVE that jacket! So pretty Smile

No clue about necklaces, but I would think it should be able to support all sorts of goodies - based on color, rather than cut of course.

Thank you!
I, too, love teal; it brings out the green in my eyes, and makes my skin look creamy.
I ordered the jacket yesterday, and can hardly wait to get it!
Since I have mostly silver jewelry, I'm going to have to acquire some new things to wear with the jacket.
Oh, what a trial it is to be forced to shop ... Wink

CNo713 - I adore that jacket! It is my favorite style from the runways this season. You will rock in it!
I think the necklace you selected is perfection. Just make sure you wear it high on the neck. Any other pieces should be kept simple and small. That jacket with all of the gold and the stunning necklace have more than enough bling for one outfit. Enjoy!

Thank you very much for those kind words!
I think this outfit is turning out to be exactly what I wanted: a festive-looking, "special" ensemble for the holidays that looks classy rather than cheesy.
Now I just need to find the right earrings.
I think there's been something of a consensus that I should keep the earrings small and simple.
I agree, but since I have a terrible weakness for dangly earrings, it's going to be something of a new experience to go "small and simple."
I'll force myself. Big Grin

AACK! Eek
I meant:
What about these earrings?
Sorry about that slip of the finger!

Those will do CNo713. I like them in the silver (I am not usually a white gold girl) because they have more shine. If you truly want a "longer" earring you could wear a 2 or 3 inch gold hoop as long as it is thin. I have a pair of gold hoops that I have had forever and I wear them all of the time. I just read somewhere that large hoop earrings make you look 10 years younger! I have no idea if that is true but it is fun to think about!

I think I like these, in gold or bronze, better than the "hammered" ones.
About hoop earrings: Though I like the young and chic vibe of large hoops, I'm always a bit wary of them, simply because I have a very round face.
I even heard Clinton (and who could argue with Clinton?) say that if you have a round face, hoops are not the most flattering shape to have right against your face, that a more linear shape in the earring is preferable. I'm thinking that the thin, not-quite-circular "Cassandra" earrings might strike a good balance.
As for color, the jacket's buttons are described as "brass," so I may just wait until I see exactly what color they really are before making a final decision on jewelry.

Yes, yes, yes! Those earrings are great. I am so excited for you! Do not worry about "matching" the buttons on the jacket. I would get the earrings in the color that best coordinates with that beautiful necklace. It is diffucult to tell from a picture, but it looks like the "bronze" or "hematite" would work. Get your jacket and see what you think. Your outfit will be "Wow!"!

I am drawn to this "bauble" necklace like a moth to a flame ...
But what would I wear it with, a simple sweater?
If so, what color sweater?
Or is it just too over-the-top?

neutrals only. nothing that's on the necklace: gray, white, head to toe black or a combination of all 3 colors.

It turns out not to matter, because the necklace is sold out.
Obviously, I'm not the only one who liked it!
However, I also like this one.
Does the simple, neutral sweater recommendation still go?

hi, CN~if you like to wear color tops this one would be a good consideration in terms of going with everything without skipping a beat:

the turquoise one is more accomodating color-wise than the multi-color one, actually (it eliminated a lot of colors). wear with any color except turquoise or wear with neutral combination outfits as well. black/white.navy, gray/white/black, aubergine/gray/camel.

very pretty necklaces and very on-trend with the beading and ribbon tie.

Woo-hoo!
You know, I noticed the clear-beads one when I was drooling over the multi-colored one; I thought, "That one (the clear one) would actually go with more things ..."
What earrings should I wear with the clear necklace (if I get it), maybe some smallish simple silver ones?

CN, if it were me: None.
why compete with a statement piece?! plus you have green eyes, dark hair, statement necklace, what else do you need? Big Grin
if you like/need a supplement piece i would go for a double/triple strand of necklaces or a scarf. earrings will make the eyes go back and forth between the shine, so you'll lose both statements.

I LOVE that one, but to muddy the waters further, I also like this one, from the Ann Taylor site.
I'm having a difficult time choosing between the two. The crystal one might be more versatile, but I LOVE the young, chic, trendy vibe of the "bauble one. The difference in price is slight enough to be insignificant.
I don't think getting both would be a great option for me, because I have SO much jewelry that keeping up with it all is starting to be a challenge.
Which do you all think I should go for?

I'm sure there are others just as beautiful but those are easy to see.

What about these?
Though it's a bit hard to tell on the 'net, they look nice and sparkly, and the price is wonderful.

Do you want to wear fakes that you intend for people to really think are real? If so, the stones need to be of a size that you could actually afford to buy. If they are 4 carats each, then others will likely know that you didn't really spend that much on one pair of earrings. You need to buy a believable size. The AT site doesn't say anything about the size of those stones.

Also, real diamonds would be set in something like 14K gold. Your fake earrings need to at least look like the fine quality of 14K gold. The AT earrings, upon zooming in, look a little like painted metal. You would really need to see these in person, maybe with a magnifying glass.

The price of the AT's is $40, but you can get these for $42 and they are 14kt gold in your choice of shape. You have 30 days to return them if you don't like them.

I don't know what those AT earrings look like up close, but the website doesn't do much to help you know. Unless I saw that those earring are somehow spectacular, I wouldn't buy them.

Those look like a great option, thanks!
I especially like the fact that you can choose the shape. Since my face is full and round, I'm thinking that small round earrings might not be the most flattering for me. The heart or princess shape might work best.
I prefer white gold to yellow gold, too.
