I bought this dress over the weekend and I'm trying to figure out what to put with it. I got it in brown and was thinking brown tights & tall boots. The website shoes black boots with the brown. Is it really ok to wear black & brown together?

You can definitely wear black and brown - but it has to look deliberate. That brown is much too dark - it will look like a mistake - like you didn't realize it wasn't black, or that you didn't realize the tights weren't brown.

I think that dress would look WONDERFUL with a nice warm brown boot... for contrast, like liphysicist said. Not sure about the cut of boot, but something like THIS or THIS brown would be pretty with it.

i think a brown patent (shiny) boot would work best. The length can be like what the model is wearing.

I should say that the dress is dark brown but isn't quite as dark irl as it looks in the website photo.

The dress is pretty basic, and adding brown or black tights/boots is very safe.

If you are wearing the dress for a social occasion, consider patterned tights, like leopard or a plaid, and your T straps.

And, wear a long knit scarf wound around your neck. The dress is a good support piece, but needs pow from accessories.

Absolutely yes. Add ribbed semi-sheer tights in brown or black.

Suede boots
Nice Basic, very versatile. A bit slouchy to support a knit. Better for a structured top/skirt.

Leather Boots

Real work-horses. Not adding flair or pizzaz, but useful in general. Matching opaque tights.
