Amy never stands behind Matt! He comes in and says he has to have surgery on his spine and she says that he makes it seem worse than it is! Last time I checked, spine surgery is very serious! She also rides his back about spending money. Be happy with all the wonderful things you have and lay off Matt. ...............

WOW!!!! I thought I was the only one that thought Amy is not very supportive!!! Amy, chill out and support Matt!! You should treat him better, he is a good dad and really tries to better all your lives on the farm. Be thankfull and enjoy, embrace all your family including your HUSBAND!! My only other comment is, WOW that house really need cleaning, I must be a neat freak but that place is a mess!! Hire a maid, Amy won't clean it up thats for sure!

Amy should use a little more compassion. I'm sure he complains all the time and it has gotten old to her hearing it and to believe when he's serious or exaggrating. She has a lot on her plate. She's got a husband that she has to constantly keep a leash on him when it comes to spending money, 2 kids going to college, daughter starting high school and a child in middle school. There is no telling what else. Give her a break!

Oh good grief... How would you feel if your husband, the other adult in the house was; A) less mature than your middle schooler. B) so irresponsible with money that you had to constantly watch and discourage him to keep your kids in food and C) someone who seems to enjoy acting the victim? Matt wants to be a good guy but is truly selfish. He had to be as a kid in order to survive all his travails but he's a dad now and the kids should come first not those projects.

I think Matt has provided well for this family. I give Matt the credit because Amy was at home raising the kids while Matt was the provider, this during the first 15 years of the twins lives. I don't see them going without food anytime soon. It was Matt's drive that brought them this show on TLC.

I'm thankful for the dreamers and thinkers of this world. Without them we wouldn't have all the modern conveniences we all enjoy today. Long live dreams!

I have been thinking for quite some time about how Amy does not need another child.
She continues to try to be the voice of reason in money matters, but has been overruled so many times, I'm not sure why she persists in such a losing battle.
That line about "Rocky, come give me some sympathy" was Matt's idea of what a dramatic actor does, maybe? He loved every moment, I'm sure. People evidently expect Amy to begin to go into hysterics when his spinal surgery is still six months off, and he's going skiing.
Luckily for her, she knows everything is subject to change. I thought it was quite inappropriate for Matt to quiz Jeremy in the car with "I think I'll call Mom...do you think she cares?" also.

Matt craves attention and will do whatever to get it. His world is extremely self centered. Having said that I'm sure his life as a child was very full of attention both from his parents and the various medical personnel who cared for him in those years. It's a good thing for Matt that Amy doesn't play into his ego. It helps bring balance to his life.

I don't know how all of you can be so biased against Amy. It seems pretty clear cut to me that both of them are not perfect and have some "faults" in the relationship. Matt needs to reign in his spending and wild ideas, because Amy is not as into spending all their money on castles and crazy stuff. Amy needs to chill and be more supportive. I don't see how Amy can be supportive of Matt though, when he continues to disregard her opinion at every turn. all in all what a normal relationship they have. No couple is perfect. They need to find some middle ground. Matt needs to take Amy traveling a bit, and curb the spending a bit. I think if he did that then Amy would support a smaller scale of crazy farm projects.

That's right, Amy. Be grateful. Let's face it, Matt does everything in that family. Gets the kids off to school, encourages their best effort at school, doesn't allow them to talk back to him because they respect him so much, and is always building useful stuff.

Stand by your man!
