I know it doesn't sound like a very good idea, but hear me out.

Occasionally, one of my professors will draw a vertical line on the board (from bottom to top) with so much friction it causes the chalk to bounce off the chalk board. You can't see that this is happening, but you can hear it and the line that is left behind is dotted.

I think this would be a good display of opposing forces.
