I had just watched this show and was amazed how this guy was pressured by this woman (girlfriend). Really, just no back- bone. She basically seemed to be negative on any other houses that were a possibility. She should have been happy with anything that this guy could afford. What I don't really understand, is why her student status didn't allow her to contribute to the qualifying for the house. I'm just pointing out that she played the part; if you love me you'll buy me and my kids this house. This is just my rant about the show.
I totally agree with you, Raymond. This woman was nothing but a golddigger. I was totally disgusted with her. He should have a stronger backbone but somehow was blinded by her looks? I give this relationship 2 years at best. Then he'll have bought a house he can't afford and she'll move back to her $400 apartment.
I agree with your 2 year time table. There is nothing wrong with a working single mom. And one who's going to school. I wonder if she had him add her to the title during the taping of this show. But TLC, trying to give this guy the appearance of having some testosterone. didn’t show her signing anything. I would love to see almost all the footage from this show! All the diary cam footage.. everything.
OMG! It wasn't just me then. I kept hoping he would put his foot down but he folded like a house of cards. Plus if I remember correctly, he works in Gallapolis OH and she's in Charleston WV. He still has the longer commute to work---by like 20 miles. Unbelievable! I'm originally from that general area and I know where all those places are.
I'm glad I wasn't alone with this thought...though I don't think the GF is a gold-digger, I do think she thinks its all about her, and she wanted what she wanted and didn't really care about what Eric set as a limitation budget wise.
I think Eric was very practical with knowing what he could afford, what was within his comfort zone price-wise, and instead of going with this, the girlfriend (I'm drawing a blank on her name) kept nagging (that's the only word I can use) until he caved in and bought the house that was out of his price range.
They're not even married (yet), I wonder if something happens to the relationship is the GF going to willingly give up the house since it is Eric's?
You guys are all right. We don't know enough about this woman, but she threw out a lot of red flags. I'm also disgusted with the guy. He let her get away with everything--does he think he can't get laid unless he buys a girl a house? Should we feel sorry for someone who thinks like that? Especially when he's passive enough to wait for her to leave him for something better?
If you watch closely, you can see how the girlfriend pulls back when he tries to hug her, at the end of the show. It is so obvious that she is just using him. Poor guy, love is blind
I saw the house cost and the salaries and I had to say, "Oh, no!" They are going to be paying twice our house payment on half of our salary. I know we are living below our means, but c'mon. They are not even married and if anything happens...
I was also somewhat disgusted with both of them. Let me just say I know some couples just like them. Ugh... I thought the young couple that purchased the manufactured home were soooooo nice and level headed and grateful. I hope the nurse prac and nurse girlfriend were watching...
