I would like to know what anyone out there use for paint color for their flips. As I feel that paint color is extremly important! Can anyone give me an idea, or even better, a paint color at home depot or lowes that I can buy for my current flip. I never like what I buy and would like to know if anyone found a color that always gets raves at their open house showings.
I've had several folks comment on the French Castle (Behr paint) that I've used in bedrooms.
To be honest, I've found good neutral colors in the Designed To Sell book I purchased through Amazon.
Please, no "Khaki with white baseboards/moldings". Flippers seem to use that quite a bit (just this one color throughout the entire house). It looked stunning the first 10 houses I saw it in but by now it's driving me crazy.
I agree with the previous poster, tans have been used to death, but I might ad, be careful what you use for paint. You can buy a gallon of paint for less money at some discount places, but you will end up spending more in the long run. Buy quality paints, Sherwin Williams is the best I've used, Behr is ok, after that, forget it. Use a paint store, Home Depot and Lowes aren't bad, the paint is ok quality, but good luck getting the kid running the paint machine to match up a new gallon.
There is a website that lets you select a paint color and see what rooms other people have painted with that color, so you can see it in all different decorating styles & in all different lights. But I can't recall the name of it, so if anyone knows, please chime in! It helped me a lot a few yrs ago.
I know on the decorating sites I frequent, Tobacco Road is a popular color but that one was too yellow in the undertones for my house (tile had rosy undertones so I went with a Behr paint). If I weren't on crutches, I'd go out to the garage and look at the paint cans for you... maybe later. The Tobacco Road is a Duron color #8214, available at Sherwin Williams. Here is a post that has samples of TR in use: http://nestingplacenc.blogspot.com/2008/02/paint.html
