Meerkata: It is ok. We love her and will continue to write about her. I bought season 1 and will watch her there. She will always be in my heart.
Dear Mozart,
You were like the little engine that could. You took care of everyone and we so admire you for that. I am happy that you had a little time with Carlos and Wilson. That was nice to watch last night. You are now with the family that you have wanted to be with all along. God bless you little Princess of the Kalahari. The manor will no longer be the same without you. Please continue to look after all of the meerkats for us. They still need you.

I didn't know how the show would end. I just lost it when I saw my favorite Kat laying there alone. Poor Wilson. If he'd come to her sooner......maybe..... She was the most loving, sweet and patient meerkat that we have been introduced to. This season has just been heartbreaking for me. Mozart, our sweet baby girl, may you find the happiness and peace you always deserved and earned. Love and lots of grooming, cuddling and food to you. Always will be in my heart.

I wished I would have seen this forum before I watched the episode. I just didn't know... didn't see it coming.
I am so sad today. A great life is gone. Is there any good new? Should I not watch the last episode?

I was disappointed that they didn't have some memory shots of her like they did with Flower.. and disappointed there isn't a Memorial thread for her.. but we have made her a Memorial..we, who loved her the most. I'm disappointed that since she has been one of the top favorites..that they didn't know more about her last hours, or really how she died. If there were any meerkats they should have intervened with..it was Mozart.
Mozart..the sweetest little girl in Meerkat Manor. She deserved more. Sleep well Sweetheart. always in our hearts.

Someone said that there had to be longer than one night before Wilson came back, but i forget why. i hope not. i hope she was still hoping, like she hoped for Kinkajou to return and she did, but not Whoopi/De la Soul. Just that if Mozart was keeping one ear out for him, i just can't bear to think she was broken-hearted. i've been trying to be up but there's always a down. I know what you mean about a memorial. people can't get over this, and like you say, ziggy, we want to know--how many days was it? was she starving, too? is that why she let her guard down--the thing Sean Astin said she was really good at? And did someone hold her? oh geez. the "episode 12" thread is sort of like a memorial. Mozart deserves one, so maybe we can keep checking "12" thread. egads. i need to get to work. my heart is with Mozart and with you all.

Thank you all for such beautiful thoughts and words about our Mozart.
Yesterday I took my niece to Starved Rock State Park but couldn't stop thinking about Mozart and her passing the night before.
Now that I'm back on the board I can't stop crying reading all of the touching things that everyone on the board is saying.
I'm wondering if the Tribute board was started for all the Meerkats who have died this past Season? I still feel that Mozart deseved a separate one as in the case of Flower. But as in her life also in her death she is forced to play the outsider. Can't they ever allow the spotlight just to be on her? She was that special to us that we feel she deserves to have a #1 spot, a Memorial Board of her own.
I wish they would have shown more tribute photos of her at the end of the episode as they did with Flower.
I still can't help but wonder if she really died from TB and not killed at the hands of a jackal? Especially since Wilson died 2 months later, but I guess we will never know.
You may be gone but you will never be forgotten, and may your tender and caring ways live on in your offspring.
RIP Princess of the Kalahari Angie aka Meerkata

ninjamom your right I guess we shouldn't be surprised, afterall Flower was the proverbal Golden Goose.
Too bad they don't bother to come on this board and read what a huge impact our Mozart has had on so many.
I've also posted this same title in the Tributes section and grievers are posting on there as well.
I say let us just keep posting and maybe just maybe the will give Mozart her own Memorial Board.

Meerkata: Please do not be upset about the Mozart tribute site. I have read many beautiful thoughts about her and she was so loved. It is ok that she does not have her own site. We care and we know how precious she was. In her lifetime she did a great many things. She was caring, thoughtful, brave, a mother, and she tried so hard to fit in. And remember she had a night of something pretty special with Wilson. She is now at peace. I was wondering if Mozart did have TB.. that would mean that maybe Wilson had it too. But then he was with RocketDog? But that was b/4 Mozart, so maybe he did not go back to her. I wonder if we will ever know what killed him. I just pray that all is well for a while. I really am happy that the season is over next week. I do need some time away from the sadness. Each time we saw her there was something tragic. How did they track her with no collar on? Please, Meerkata, remember we all loved Mozart. She is not far from our thoughts. I hold her close in my heart. Just because someone is not remembered on their own memorial site does not mean that they are any less important. What is important is that we honor her memory and always keep her close to us. I hope that when it is our turn people will say nice things about us like they are about Mozart. We could only be as fortunate.
Mozart: Rest In Peace Brave Little One..We love you now, tomorrow and always.....

Christopher969 Thank you so much for your heartfelt words.
Your right I have read so many beautiful postings on the board since the episode aired. Mozart burrowed her way into so many of our hearts and that will never change, Memorial board or not.
I was kind of disappointed in how fake the moonlight scene appeared to be. Afterall they have done so much copying & pasting of footage to make it appear as if everything happened as reality (ex: JE) what happened with this episode? It looked like they just took a head shot and put a fake background behind it.
I too wondered how they really tracked her, though in previous seasons they said that she always stayed on the outskirts of the Whiskers territory so maybe she really did and therefore it would not have been difficult to track her. She was always on the outside looking in, and I still think that if Flower were alive she may not have been ran off the last time she tried to return to the family. There were so many times in the past that she was allowed to return to the warm embrace of the family only to be evicted again.
I also wondered watching the Graduate if it's possible that the jackal and she crossed paths as she fled when Wilson joined his family in their battle against the Whiskers. We will probably never know for sure how she died since there were no witneses and no actual autopsy was done on her.
Let us rejoice in her triumphs though they were few and far between and learn what we can from her and try to be half the person that she was a Meerkat.
Mozart may your spirit always bless your offspring on the Kalahari and may their lives be easier then yours was. You are the bravest, most loving and caring Meerkat in the Kalahari.
RIP Princess of the Kalahari you or gone but will never be forgotten.

Meerkata: Me again...I did not post after the show on Friday night as I was hurt and disappointed by all of the deaths this season. I am crying now but I did not cry then as I felt misled as to how they showed Mozart and the show altogether. My opinion only, but I do not feel that this was correct. Flower's death was not shown how it really was and I was upset also. I guess they do have to cut and paste but when it comes to the actual deaths I would like them to be honest in their showing of it. Did Mozart try to get back to Wilson? Did she die on the way back to her burrow? They may not know and that is why they showed it like that. Please, people, do not be upset with what I am saying. I know that they cannot say "action" and the meerkats take their places. It just does not happend that way. I get that. Just on the deaths, I would like it to be honestly shown. I just have a love for these little guys and am only stating what I feel. It was sweet that they showed Mozart happy if only for a night. As someone said Flower had everything and wanted nothing...Mozart had nothing and wanted everything. It happens all of the time in our lives. Many people have everything and others have nothing. But we have alot of control over that. Many animals do not. I am just beside myself over this. I cannot post much anymore. Too sad.... Maybe tomorrow. I feel that you and many others understand, Meerkata...and also my husband...he at least lets me vent. Poor guy...Thanks for listening or reading...Sorry if this offends anyone. It is not meant that way.
I love you always little Mozart....

I agree with every word you wrote. I too would love to see the actual truth of the deaths portrayed.
I also am sorry if anyone is offended by what I have written, it's just my opinion and one that I'm not trying to force on anyone else.
I can't help but wonder about this so called jackal, especially since the camerman was out there filming the fight scene. Was the camerman in the area of Mozart when she was attacked, if she was attacked and was it filmed and MM producers chose to go a different route with the storyline? That's if the fight scene really happened at the same time of the Mozart and Wilson storyline. Someone on the board stated that the fight scene actually happened at a later time when the Whiskers were split as in the next episode when Maybelline takes most of the family with her.
I also noticed that when they showed Zaphod in the first scene he had no marks on his face or neck, the next scene he did and Sean Astin referred to it, then lo and behold the next scene the scrapes are gone again.
I guess the MM producers figured we wouldn't have noticed that because we were to caught up in the storyline. They need to watch for the little things when they are cutting and pasting.
I have really enjoyed reading your postings Christopher969 and feel that I have a friend in you that really understands how I feel and I feel that I'm not being judged for putting my feelings out there. I also wonder if that was really shots of Mozart, if you watch when she's running with Wilson she appears to be very wide like a pregnant Meerakt would look. Were we really watching the love story of Mozart and Wilson, or was it the love story of Wilson and another kat, or 2 totally different kats all together?
I just didn't get the sense that it was Mozart. Maybe it's just me but I'd like to know if others feel the same way.
Either way, my feelings for Mozart are very real just like the others posting on the boards. This Season had wayyyyyyyy tooooooooo much death, I really would've liked to have seen more of the life; pups playing, teens play fighting, family just hanging out at the burrow grooming and showing their love for each other.
I'm not sure about Season 4 at this time, RD appeared out of nowhere and became DF yet we never even heard her name mentioned prior to that. I just don't have the desire to want to know the goings on with the current kats. I just don't feel attached to any of them other than Zaphod, Sophie and Mitch, and I surely can't face the saddness of losing them. My heart can't take any more bad news, I'm just so tired of crying day in and day out, I feel emotionally spent.
I'll have the summer to try and get my emotions in check before the new Season begins, but if it's anything like this Season I wont watch beyond episode 1.
Again thank you christopher969 and all the others who have posted their feelings and opinions on this thread. I just wish they would have started a Memorial board for her so that all the postings are in a common area for everyone to read rather than all over the different boards.
RIP Mozart my tears continue to fall and my heart continues to ache for what you could've been and what you could've had. You were so cheated in this game they call life.

WOW Meerkata: I also feel that I have a friend in you here. You said everything I was saying when I posted on Sat. I did not even post that night as I was too upset. I do not feel that this was Mozart. The body that they showed was too heavy. My husband, Christoper, said the same thing. We froze the scene and it was just not her. Just tired also of all of the deaths... 7 out of 12 shows had a death in them. What gives? Hard to watch. I agree..no connection with the present ones. Maybe we all need a break, but I hope that you and others are here to talk daily or weekly. My book, on Flower, is coming as I just got the email today...Got a Meerkat calendar and we will be going to FE in May 2008. Are you in So. Cal? You could go with us.

Your right we all do need a break, just too much heartache this Season. I too froze the scene with her and Wilson and looked long and hard and in my opinion it wasn't our Princess. Her body was way to heavy and looked nothing like the body laying in the sand (which I also froze and looked long and hard at).
I will continue coming on this board and talking with you and others during the off Season. It may be weird but I feel like I can speak freely about my feelings here where I can't in my real life.
I live in a suburb ouside of Chicago, IL. and I would love to go to FE. After Flower passed I posted on all the boards for people to adopt a Meerkat to honor her memory. Then by the time that I adopted they were already booked into 2008. I guess I should have adopted before I posted. But at least many of our posters gave money to a wonderful thing that they are doing there.

I was just getting ready to tell you the same thing, great minds think alike.
I had totally forgotten that Athena said that she would report the truth after the episode aired.
My guess is that she was killed when she fled from the Commandos/Whiskers fight when Wilson left her side to go join in. I just kept have the feeling and couldn't explain it, but as much as it does hurt we at least know the truth.
I didn't realize that raptors were known to live on the Kalahari, I'll have to do some research on them.
I wonder if her death is in the book? I've ordered mine quite sometime ago, but they gave me a ship date of Nov.26 thru Dec.10th.
RIP you will be surely missed Mozart

Merrkata: Yes, at least we now know and can move forward. No more guessing. And I think when she left the Commandos she probably got attacked. They did show her with Wilson and it was a great love story. I will settle for that. Bless her little heart. She is no longer alone. THAT bothered me more than anything. Females cannot live on their own in the Kalahari. It is just too hard. I am glad she is at peace. I worried too much every week about her and now we can have the happy memories. I think after this last show I will watch season 1. I bought it last week. I had never seen it. My book has been shipped as of yesterday. So I am looking forward to that too.

I agree now we can move forward, our hearts can heal and we have wonderful memories to look back on.
Mozart was an amazing kat, one of a kind. Her ability to survive in such a harsh environment alone for as long as she did shows what a strong will to live that she had. I too was glad that she had at least one night of happiness before she died. I believe that she was attacked when she fled as the fight began. She was probably so engrossed in thought of Wilson and trying to make sure that she wasn't spotted that she forgot to look up. The raptor was probably sitting in a tree watching what was going on with the kats setting to fight and looked for an opportunity to pick one off. Unfortunately for us it was Mozart he had in his sights. I just pray that her death was quick and as painless as possible considering the type of death that it was.
I own Season 1 and have watched and rewatched it many times. You will love it, Mozart is such a sweetheart as she stood by Shakepeares side after he was bitten by a snake. That was the first of many heroic things our little kat did. I feel that was the first time she started to burrow her way into my heart, and that feeling never stopped.
I will warn you though that there are a few times when your heart will ache for our sweetheart and more than a few tears will fall. But I don't want to give any part of it away, so I'll leave it at that unless you want me to say more.
I'm still waiting on my book I ordered it from Amazon.com and for some reason they stated that the ship date will be Nov.26th thru Dec.10th. I have no idea why mine will take so long yet so many others already got theirs. I wonder if Mozarts death is covered in the book or was the book already completed when she died in April. I hope they have pictures of all of our favorites.

Our poor little Mozart the sweetheart of the Kalahari.. on one of the other forums I said that sometimes even when I know it is silly that I would like to take my two Irish Terriers and my German Shepherd with my horse and ride the Kalahari to protect our Meerkats. By gosh my Irish when get the snakes and hawks and I bet my Shepherd when give the other preditors a run for thier life if they tried to harm not the Meerkats and by lord if my dogs couldn't get it then I run them far off on my horse! Lord I just want to protect all of them! I know we can't because it is nature and we can't interfere but sometimes my heart doesn't always want to listen to my head. We will miss you so much Mozart the sweetest of them all!

Sorry.. got my self so excited I went and put WHEN instead of WOULD! My Irish Terriers would get those snakes and hawks and all the ones that try to go under ground after our Meerkats by gosh and what the Irish didn't get the German Shepherd would give it to the large preditors!

Yes, I really wish they would tell us the truth and not make up fairy tales. I don't know if she spent only one night with Wilson, or if she was with him at all. I also don't know if the body shown on the sand was even her's. I've read in other places she was found in a tree. If that is true..then the predator would most likely have been a raptor or cat. Why do they say a jackel? I think they should have collared her and kept better track of her knowing she was a favorite. She deserved more attention. At least for the sake of fans. On wikipedia it says that Kinkajou died in "early 2007" and Mozart in April. That's a big time difference. I know they tried to soften the blow. But I would prefer to have more of the truth.
Sleep well Sweet Mozart. You are so sadly missed and remembered.

I've been reading the message boards since friday's episode. I was so shocked and destroyed for poor little Mozart, I didn't see it coming. I've been crying my eyes out ever since and my heart feels like it's missing a piece. How do we begin to deal with this loss. Especially, when not everyone understands what a connection we have with these beautiful creatures, at least we can lean on each other. We've always had our hopes that our sweet little Mozart would be able to make it on her own, since she was such a stro | | |
