Missshakespeare

It brought tears to my eyes when I read that you spent Thanksgiving alone. I can't imagine the pain and lonliness you must have felt knowing that so many had family and friends to share the holiday with while you do not.
My heart goes out to you dear friend and like Janelle please know that my door is also open to you for Christmas or any holiday for that matter.

I'm not sure where you live but precious friend please know that you aren't alone, you have family here and you are welcomed anytime.

Allow me to give you meerkat nuzzles and snuggles along with alittle grooming and scentmarking you are family and all of us here are a family as well as friends.

God Bless You

Missshakespeare,

I agree with Christopher and Meerkata, you definitely have a meerkat family here! And we are always going to be here for you in the burrow. It made me so sad that you had to spend Thanksgiving alone. Please let us know if there is ever anything we can do for you. Being alone during the holidays is hard. My door is always open as well.

Hugs and nuzzles to you and all meerkat friends!

Christopher, Meerkata & Luvthemeerkats:

Thank you all so much for being here for me. This year has been especially bad both financially and emotionally but I will make it through.

You have all made me cry but with tears of joy rather than sorrow. I have found the most wonderful friends on this forum and hopefully we will stay close for a very long time.

I do not think I live close to any of you and would never think of imposing on your families especially at the holidays. Even if I do spend Christmas alone it will be a happy day knowing that I have friends like you thinking of me.

Meerkata, I've been meaning to ask how you are doing. Have you decided about the surgery? Please know you are always in my prayers and if there is anything I can do please let me know.

Thanks again...I love you all. I send meerkat nuzzles, snuggles, and scentmarkings to each of you.

Missshakespeare

I live in a suburb west of Chicago, though I'm not sure what state you live in.
Also know that you would not be imposing one bit, afterall Holidays are to be spent with family and friends and you Missshakespeare are both. You are my friend and we are both part of the meerkat family so there.

Right now I'm waiting to go for a 2nd opinion with a Neurosurgeon and I'm suppose to go back to the Orthopedic Surgeon on December 12th. Either way I will probably be getting the surgery after the Holidays. I don't want to wait too much longer because January will mark 1 year and I was told that the longer I wait the more likely the chance that the nerve damage will be permanent.

Talk with you soon precious friend, God Bless you and I love you too.

Nuzzles, snuggles, hugs and more scentmarking to keep us nice and stinky. HEHE

I'm not trying to put a damper on this but do you honestly think Flower liked Mozart? Mozart was a princess but let's face it: she was harlot...

A caring harlot but she remains a harlot. Flower evicted her to let her die and she honestly could not care less.

I loved Mozart with all of my young and childish heart but what makes that heart ache is that Mozart died alone and with a family that hated her.

So let's face the facts: Mozart was shunned, hurt, and rejected. In fact I don't see little Mozart as a princess I see her as the strongest soldier.

She, Shakespeare, and Flower were my favorites. With all three of the warriors deceased I turn my favors to Mitch. I think of him as the legacy of Shakespeare.

But going back to the point: Mozart will not be welcomed home by the Queen. Something that pains me to say but I thought you should know.

Flowers-mercy

We are all entitled to our own opinion and that may be yours. But allow me to also put out a few facts:
Flower too was evicted when she was a subordinate, it's the way in a large family when the DF wants to make sure that her pups have the best chance to survive. Although it wasn't portrayed on the show Mozart was allowed back in the family more often than we were lead to believe.
So if you want to call Mozart a h*a*r*l*o*t (trigger word) then so is Flower, in fact just about every female on the Kalahari is for they all give in to the advances of the rovers.
I don't think for 1 minute that Flower hated Mozart remember their family was very large and it would be hard for Flower to keep track of what females were there at any given point. Also Mozart wasn't the only female to be evicted, so what are you saying that Flower hated all of them. Not likely, if you read the book you will see how often females are evicted from the group and how often their pups are killed by the DF or other females within the group, and how often the females are allowed back into the group.
Remember when Mozart was ran off the last time she tried to rejoin the family it wasn't Flower that ran her off. Had Flower been there I'm sure she would have allowed her to rejoin, as she did many times in the past.
So with that said I believe that Flower loved Mozart otherwise she would have killed Mozarts 6 offspring rather than allowing them to grow and live in the Whiskers family.

I too feel that Mozart was the strongest soldier as well as the most loving and caring of kats and she was and is a PRINCESS because she is the daughter of Flower the QUEEN.

In closing allow me to add that when you go over the Rainbow Bridge hatred and anger do not follow you there otherwise you wouldn't be there, you'd be at the opposite end.
So yes I'm quite sure that Flower welcomed her daughter home with paws outstretched and a big tail hug. I felt and thought that you should know.

No hard feelings everyone is entitled to their opinion and heres a meerkat nuzzle and hug.

I really do think that there are many names for Mozart. Harlot is not one of them. Mozart wanted to find happiness and when she was evicted for the last time she tried to start her own family. I praise her for trying. She was and will always be a princess to me. DF's evicting their own happens all of the time in the Kalahari Meerkat world. I believe that all are welcomed when they cross over to the Rainbow Bridge. I agree with Meerkata...no hatred allowed....Flower and all are welcomed with open arms. I would say that Shakes was more of a soldier to me than Mozart.

missshakespeare:

Holidays are a time for family and friends. I do not talk with my sister anymore as she and my dad came to blows last year. She was very cruel to him and I had him moved out of her house after he lived there for 5 days. You cannot pick your family...but you can pick your friends and Meerkata, luvthemeerkats and I want to extend to you our friendship and to know that you are always welcomed. No need to be by yourself. It is one day and one day that is very important for friends to spend time together. My best friend, who died 7 years ago tonight, always had people over to celebrate holidays who had no one else to be with. That to me is what holidays are about. Friends.....friendships....Period! Plus we could all sit around and talk about Meerkats. Works for me!

Anyway....Mozart the Princess and Flower the Queen will always be missed....and forever loved by all of us!

Janelle

Thank you for agreeing with me about our Mozart. I was quite upset when I read what she wrote about Flower hating Mozart and putting her out to die cause she didn't care and then the harlot part.
How can she say that Mozart was one of her favorites and then turn around and say that about her. With fans like that Mozart doesn't need any enemies that's for sure.

I'm sure Mozart's true fans would be just as upset as we are if they read what she wrote. But who knows that may have been her indention.

Mozart will be remembered for many years to come as a loving, caring, comforting, tender yet resilient, awesome, survivor, strong, a friend, a sibling, a mother, and a Princess.

I do not know why people say the things that they do, but we that are true Meerkat lovers know that Meerkats live in such harsh conditions. A year to us is like 5 years to them....always struggling and not knowing if they will survive the day let alone the nights. I applaude all of them for what they can accomplish. Each Meerkat is special. Kinks may not have been my favorite, but she did what she thought was best at the time. Too bad it affected Mozart so badly. In the end it really did not matter. Mozart's pups probably would not have survived after all of that anyway. Sad chain of events in that family. Mozart and Flower and all of the other fallen Meerkats will always be in my thoughts. Flower is the Queen of the Kalahari and Mozart is the Princess.

Janelle

You are absolutely right about the harsh environment they live in. It's also a very unforgiving environment with only the strong or stronger surviving. While as cruel as it seems to be with what Kinkaju did to Mozarts pups it did save them from dyeing a more horrific death of starvation or by freezing.

We should all consider ourselves lucky to have had the ability to get a glimpse into their lives which never would've happened had it not been for the researchers and AP.
So rather than cutting them down by calling them names like harlot, just say thanks and admire their ability to survive.

Merekata: You are right. I would rather say kind things about our Meerkats. They are nothing but pure joy to watch. Putting an unkind label on an animal is not nice. Animals need to do whatever it is to survive and Mozart did exactly what any other female did. She tried to mate and start a family. Just like Flower did....many times! Gee like no one ever does that? HELLO!!!!

Meerkata, did you have surgery? I lost the thread where we were all talking about surgery and Las Vegas and all. If you did, I hope you are well. And hugs to you, misshakespeare.

Seems like I'm just drawn here; it's nice to see that people are still posting.

Mozart2

Have you finished the song you were working on?

For Christmas I asked for many Mozart items and received a sweatshirt, t-shirt, mouse pad, ornament, etc just to name a few to honor our precious Mozart.

My other Christmas wish was for my furbaby Cleo who I almost lost from kidney failure on Dec. 8th. She is now home and getting stronger everyday, although she's on 3 different medications and getting fluid injections it's ok. She appears to be happy and is finally eating and even playing with her toys again. So this has been the best Christmas ever for me in my adult life. Too bad we couldn't ask and get our beloved Meerkats back, season 4 will be so lonely without them.

I hope all our Meerkat lovers had a fantastic Christmas and also received lots of Meerkat items.

It's true that Mozy was definetly the Princess of the Kalahari. We can be sure that she is surrounded by her family and has made up with Our Desert Rose, Flower. Her Legacy will live on in all those who loved her. She will always be the Little Rose of the Kalahari. Rest in peace, our special girl. We will always remember you.

Also, here is a song that fits our Little Rose perfectly.

Concrete Angel-Martina Mcbride

I believe that Mozart will be Welcomed home by The Queen because in Rainbow Bridge there is no unhappiness, pain, grudges or hatred. If thre was 1 of them would not be let in and it sure fire wouldn't be the Little Princess because she deserved it more than anyone.

If you want to read the Rainbow Bridge poem go to RainbowBridge.com

One more thing.. The AP guy said they really didn't know how Mozart lived so long alone.

That surprised me, because I would think researchers would want to know that.

I hope that next time, they take the opportunity to follow a lone female more closely. They could learn how a lone female does survive, and maybe intervene if they thought it was the right thing to do.
