I think that Shakespear is alive cuz on the TCB interview they asked about him & TCB said they werent gonna make a movie but that was all he could say about the subject so i believe he is alive

I have never lost faith that he is still alive. He is still out there being a great dominant male of a group.

No one knows for sure about Shakespear-he just disappeared. He could very well be alive and be the DM of a mob somewhere.

I haven't lost faith either. Everyone keeps talking about how tough Shakespeare is, and that toughness is why I think he is still out there some where in the Kali leading a dominant and strong mob of meerkats to power.

I don't think anyone knows for sure what happened to Shakespeare. But I also think there is a good chance the tough little fellow is alive someplace, or at least that he was for some time after he disappeared. Maybe he just went roving, met some females, and decided to stay with them.

I have never lost faith that he may still be alive and im sure every one else is still believing too. maybe he did die maybe he didnt...lets just hope he didnt!!and just like what vwf053 said maybe he went out roving. he could have even met up with a small group of meerkats, when he saw a female meerkat, and they just happened to let him in becaus they were short on big tough coragouse males. we probly wont ever know...but i know ill never stop believing in him!!

In my opinion, I believe there are two reasons why they would not state what happened to shakespeare.

The first one is that he may not have made it, and the team did not want to tell us because he was so beloved by viewers. But, this was the beginning of the Meerkat Manor shows, and the team did not know at that time just how loved he was, along with Tosca's disappearance at the time, and this was before the other meerkats that we love passed on (Flower, Mozart, Hannibal, Carlos, Kinks, etc, etc, etc), so there was no indication to the team just how emotional we would get hearing of a passing of a meerkat. So, the team had no significant reason not to tell us Shakes passed on because they knew how loved he was with viewers.

Secondly: The research team probably will not tell us what happened to Shakes because they state a number of times that they do not interfere with the lives of these animals in a positive or negative manner. The team may have helped Shakes in one way or another survive by calling a vet, or putting him in a protected climate where he can try and let his body recover while finding food for him, but do not want the viewers to know that. I know a lot may not believe in the second one, but it is an option that I guess is why the team will not tell what truly happened to Shakes.

I will always believe from that first season that Shakes and Tosca had made it. Everyone talks about Shakes and Tosca being strong meerkats physically and emotionally, so by having a strong spirit; I believe they are still around today with their own group.

I'm not sure if Tosca make it or not, but there is a better chance that Shakespeare made it.

Tim Clutton-Brock and the reseachers do not know what happened to Shakespeare. As they have said, Shakespeare disappeared. He probably went off roving and may have went outside the reserve. He could be a DM if he is alive, but Shakespeare and Tosca will always live in our hearts no matter what!!

Shakespeare will always be a mystery because he simply disappeared. No body was found. This is the fate of 2/3rds of the meerkats in the study groups. It does not mean that all those meerkats died. They do what meerkats do and continue their lives but with other groups who are not studied or they go off the reserve and are never seen again (Tina Sparkle/Sophie). Some are spotted and identified in wild groups (Logan, Machu/Mitch,) but cannot be followed because the other members in their groups do not tolerate humans close to them.

Only one researcher thought he saw a meerkat fitting Shakespeare discription on a neighboring farm. This siting brought much hope and many questions.

No one knows definitely what happened to him after that and that is the absolute truth.

I think he was smart enough to survive and join another group, but that is my opinion and not fact.

I think most of us just want to believe Shakespeare is alive and well.

I guess we all have our own opinions as to what happened to him, but I as was said already, it will probably remain a mystery as to what actually happened.

shakespear was the first meerkat of MM that i seen and he drew me in to watching the series and that was S1E1 and havent missed one since. I do still hold alot of hope that they both are out there happy and healthy with a large strong group together that is my hope
