Hannibal was a sweet meerkat? He was always portrayed as being a nasty one. In fact, I was kind of happy that he died, because I thought he was so mean!

Hannibal's KMP name was Jim Bob. He was portrayed as nastly because he looked scary, with his missing eye. In reality the researchers who work with the meerkats said he was one of the sweetest kats in the project. He was likeable not only for his personality but his incrediable survival story; not many meerkats make it through such a bad injury (I believe he was attacked by a predator, but escaped) much less become dominants with a permanent injury.

Most of the nasty things they showed Hannibal and Commandos (actually Vivian a that point) doing were manufactured storylines, like the burrow raid that killed Mozart's litter. In reality the Vivian rarely met Whiskers, and most of the fight scenes with Vivian/Commandos were probably film of other nearby groups like Young Ones, or Elveera.

Hannibal was atacked by a bird of prey,he's lucky he only lost an eye insted of a leg!

Wow, I didn't know that. It is sad that he died then. I wish I had known that all along.
