I wanted to share our story, about our JRT, that we rescued. He was found by two women, who found him abandoned, covered in automotive motor oil. His skin appeared burned by the oil, they cleaned him up and took him to a vet. They posted him online and we were blessed enough to take him. We also took him to a vet, who told us he had mange, and maybe the person(s) had read somewhere that the motor oil may kill the mange. We are not sure on that part, maybe they were just cruel to animals. We took in the JRT he is about 8 months old. We already had another female JRT, she is 3 years old. He is an extremely lovable puppy, and it will take time for his wounds to heal. We loved Steve Irwin, and all that all of Animal Planet stands for. We named him, Steve-O, in honor of the man who would have loved him. Thank you.
You may want to consider contacting a reporter at a paper where the women live and telling them about this nice story about two great people in their community.
The media has gotten more interested in writing about good samaritans who are doing so much for animals, and people lke YOU that are making the world a better place
Also consider doing a page for him on Dogster.com and writing about his rescue. Maybe it will encourage other people to adopt and save animals!!
(Ps I'm sure you probably know this- but he's old enough to get neutered. But these ladies probably got that done)
