when we found out that ty was going to be deployed to iraq for a year, i knew it was going to be a hard year... we had talked about getting a puppy so that i wouldnt be so lonely and so that i would still have someone there for me everyday... we had decided we wanted a lab mix... the more i thought about it, i decided what i really wanted was a YELLOW lab mix, to serve as my true yellow ribbon while ty served our country overseas- i started looking on petfinder.com and sure enough, came across a litter of yellow lab mix pups! i called right away and set up a time to go see the precious little puppies - they were all SO cute, but i fell in love with one immediately... a few days later, i took ty back with me, and he picked the same puppy i did!!! we knew he would be a perfect fit for us - we brought him home two weeks later, and he's been my support since ty left last july... it helps to be able to send pictures overseas of what our little baby has grown up to be! he turned one yea old in february, and has been nothing but wonderful for both of us, and especially for me! everyone who meets him loves our little gunnar dog
