The Shift is a great show that really highlights some good old fashion detective work in Indianapolis. I heard a rumor that one of the stars of that show is originally from where I live. Detective Christine Minka. I was told that she was a former police officer in Bremen, Indiana. Can anyone confirm this?
I have no idea where she's from, but it would seem that she's not from Indiana or anywhere else in the Midwest whose residents have a "neutral" accent.
Every time I see the promo with her asking "So if the victim's body was in that truck, the 'ga-diver' dog can tell that?" I want to scream "CADAVER! CA-DA-VER! It's a normal English word meaning 'dead body,' and a dog trained to search for the smell of decomposing flesh is a cadaver dog, not a 'ga-diver' dog!"
So I suspect she's spent some time somewhere in the US with a strong accent, like lower Mississippi or Alabama.
