I am watching 48 Hours Hard Evidence: The Babysitter. Granted, I haven't seen the entire show yet, but already I'm REALLY disturbed and wonder if anyone else is. They show the parents of this precious little girl being interviewed in the police interrogation room; the police have already decided Chris, the babysitter, has sexually violated this toddler, then shaken her, ultimately, to death. I'm watching the parents right after this happened. If a police office told me your daughter was sexually violated and murdered by a 14 year old, WHILE she's in the hospital struggling for life, you'd have to SEDATE me and lock me up to prevent me from going after the guy. These parents are not crying, not distraught... their reaction is: Well, boy, he deserves what he gets. Now... does this strike ANYONE as normal??? As a detective--and they seem to put so much stock in how people react--would that strike you as NORMAL??? Is it just me??? God forgive me if they had nothing to do with it, but I certainly would have looked closer at these parents before charging the babysitter!!!
