i tivo this show every week and i love it. i think the host makes a mockery of himself, but he's quite good at what he does. you get a great outside perspective of the culture and traditions of the tribes. many are very eloquent and beautiful and are one with nature. i found the latest episode on the shamen tribe to be a bit awkward. i'm usually really open and nonjudgemental, but i couldn't help but notice that all they really did was sit around on hammocks and get high all day long. it seemed like the "spirits" were only bringing about negative energy; a 10 year old girl marrying that old man who mistreats her; they were poor hunters and couldn't catch a thing, and when they were able to smoke the armadillo out of its hole, they ate it there and didn't bring any back for the women and kids; overkill animals; unwelcoming to guest; unhappy people. maybe this is a result of them being outcasted from other tribes over the years, or maybe they just chose this life. it would be interesting to know where they go next.
