In any movie, play, show, etc., when the viewer connects with the characters, then they’re hooked...they become vested in the show. Thus, more focus should be placed on the crew(aside from the captains): Where they are from, their families, backgrounds, what they do during down time, sleeping quarters, what they eat, their goals, motivation for crabbing, their interaction with other crew members, etc. If the entire crew is like a “family”, then the viewer should be truly invited into their world…..in addition to the excitement of watching them catch crabs. Just my opinion.
