The biggest trend I've seen living in New York City is the explosion of doggie playgroups. I should know, I am the organizer of a Schnauzer playgroup and we meet at Washington Square Park. Time Out New York magazine even did an article on the pet phenomenon.

These playgroups are worthwhile because you get to meet people from all walks of life, while exercising and socializing your dogs. It's great! Plus, many of the doggie playgroups are free, so there's lots to gain.

How do you find a doggie playgroup for your particular breed of dog? Try searching Meetup.com, Yahoo Groups, or even Google and Craigslist.

As for NYC Schnauzers, everyone is welcome to stop by the park and play with our dogs. The more, the merrier!
