without even knowing it, you are complimenting the klockwerks crew. All you see is a stock bagger but with further examination you start to notice that somethings not quite right... That's like saying Foose or Codington just build 32 ford's Nearly every part on the bike has been massaged, manipulated or built for this project. Fork covers, bag extensions (Not Arlens) Gauge pods, bag fillers, stereo, dvd player, led tail lights made in house, a custom built and designed to brian's spec's frame. Floor board undercovers. bag fillers. This is no bolt on betty... It's like a Chip Foose or Boyd project. It looks like it came out of a factory and you can't really tell what is different, but somehow you know something just isn't right about it..... Peace out....
That's more or less what I thought you'd give me. He built a bunch of accessories. It's kinda've like when someone buys a Honda and puts a body kit and a can muffler on it.
I detest Boyd, btw. So that didn't help your case.
As for Foose, I'm mostly familiar with what he did on Overhaul'n, except for a few side projects like the Foose chopper, but most of them don't stick in my mind, which tells me they were probably too stock, no matter how well crafted.
Originality goes a long way with me.
Nothing you said impressed me enough to have voted for Klock over Hart.

By the way.. You seem to be focusing on the frame issue since you trashed the other parts that were built. The frame was not a modified stock frame. It is a frame built for this project. It holds a 200 rear without mods, has a 2 to 3 inch stretch and many other mods. YOu will be able to puchase this frame in the near future so you too can build your dream bagger. It does not have a harley title. but what ever..It's not that jay's bike is less of a bike... it just wasn't the winner this time...

I never said it was a stock frame. I don't know what kind of frame it was, it looked to me to be modified, and heavier than stock with those huge gussets across the backbone.
And no thank you, I wouldn't build a bagger. And if I did, it would be WAY different than what I saw in that build. It would be original.
But I'm not arguing with you anymore. You don't have any arguements that would sway me.
Hi, I'm new to the program here, but I just couldn't hold my thoughts any more. First of all, yes, it is surprising that the bagger actually started and ran; however, rumor has it that the motor, which is still OWNED by S&S, was installed by company techs that were flown in by S&S. Klock and his crew may have attached a few cables for TV, but that's it. Second, he has never actually had an original idea. He takes tons of pics at bike events and copies what others have already done. Third, this WFB land speed record was set in a class where it was, as I have heard, the only bike in competition. It was a bagger class with a female pilot on board. Only bike there. Even if it had been with the guys, the same guy has won it quite a bit, and so not many other people bother to enter. All show and no go. Why in the world do you put a dvd player in a bagger anyway? Shouldn't you be riding and enjoying what you see rather than watchin' tv? Klock is so unoriginal he had to steal his logo and now Jesse James' hair!!!
This had to be the worst episode yet!!! This bagger was a joke. Hart actually built something, I mean everything, Klock built nothing. It's a biker build off not assemble off. I could have done without Hart's tap dance routine, it would have been nice to see him working more metal magic. Anybody can order the one off frame, a builder builds it. How about the rest of the bike with stock bags, side covers ect. I like baggers just fine and I'm sure that one looked really good in person, but it sure didn't seem to fit the idea of a build off. As far as the WFB thing, it seems they have a class for everyone and they just picked one they could win. If you want a fast bagger take just about any Japanese sport tourer bagger and your pretty much there.
I just watched the Klock vs. Hart episode again and I could've missed something but I didn't see Brian Klock himself do a single thing other than talk the entire show. Could somebody else do the same and tell me what they come up with???? I'm sure there's a perfect explanation for this. Maybe Klock didn't want to reveal his "special secret magic tricks" to the meer feeble minded humans at home and he did us all a favor and hid these amazing techniques from the cameras so that our brains didn't explode trying to take in all of his talented methods of fabrication????
I think it would have showed him ordering a frame, engine, wheels, fairing, saddle bags-- or maybe he had someone else do that also. Like I said I'm sure that bagger thing looked just as good as any other bagger on the showroom but not a real biker build off kinda bike or builder.
klock did talk and credit his entire team. Every build off builder had a 'team'. Hotch, ness, perewitz, fairless, suter, gypsy, and jay. they all had help. and they all acknowledge it. including jay and brian.
Maybe it's just me... but I don't think I've ever seen any builder take as much abuse as Brian Klock on this forum! I commend iknowtheanswer for trying to defend this guy but it just isn't working. Brian by far had more help than anyone who has ever been on the show and his bike still looked like a poorly customized stock bike. I can't beleive that you can't understand why everyone thinks you're wrong! I don't think your gonna change the mind of anyone here. Maybe in some fantasy hamsterland but not here. I've got one word for Hamsterboy....GOLDWING!
Yes, dear Mr. iknowtheanswer, I too saw the engine get unloaded BY the S&S techs from a minivan (not by any Klockwerks employees). You fail to get to the heart of the discussion by avoiding the point that Klockwerks didn't install it. Yes, I agree, a cupholder with ssomething in it that would ease the pain of idiocy would have been a great addition!
You do realize that there would be no "faceless critics" if the Klockwerks bike wasn't silly. You act as though only a few people are of this opinion. Maybe I've been talking to all the wrong people but everyone that I know that watched the show feel the same way. I Guess I need to find some more intelligent friends who could easily see why a near stock bagger should be considered a cool bike for the discovery channel biker build off.
Hey, Mathius & Wastoid write on you guys obviously have a vast knowlede when it comes to bikes & builders and I think some of the constructive criticism you give is great, (although I think the Hamster Conspiracy is a quite shaky) I think Klock knew he would take A LOT of heat on building a bagger kudos to him for going through with it!!
Bikergirl01 now seriously lets call a spade a spade you sound like a disgruntled x girlfriend, employee or customer???? Jesse James' hair now that you mention RUMOR HAS IT his girlfriend looks just like Sandra Bullock too!!! fessupsucker!!!
I've just tried to stay out of this one but here we go. My name is Joe Mielke . I work at Klock Werks. On the build off I'm the big bald headed guy on our episode of BBO. First off the BBO is Television. There is no such thing as reality TV. With that said. For the record myself and another guy wired everything in the motorcycle. This included the S&S fuel injection system. S&S built this motor. No surprise, they build them for anyone who wants one. S&S delivered the engine the day it was finished so we would have it in time. Klock Werks installed the engine. We installed the fuel injections system (throttle body, intake, fuel rail, injectors, sensors and all mechanics). We installed the Baker trans, inner and outer primary, S&S clutch pack and basket, etc. We built the bike. The S&S technicians hung out and watched as we built the bike. They (S&S) helped put the motor in place and bolt it up. Everyone got TV time. It's called advertising. When we felt the bike was complete and ready to fire the S&S technicians hooked up their laptop computer and did a full diagnostics test. Everything passed on the first try. S&S heat cycled the engine about a dozen times over the next few hours while we finished the bike. Then we started the engine once again with the crowd watching with the cameras rolling as they had been all afternoon. That is all you saw on television, which is possibly called post production editing. So take that for what its worth. Motorcycle shops around the world install S&S built motors in custom bikes every day. Not news.
As far as the whole stock painted bagger deal. Lots of comments and theories on what we may or may not have done are floating around. How do I address the Quote un Quote "Brian by far had more help than anyone who has ever been on the show and his bike still looked like a poorly customized stock bike." type comments? Ignorance results in Ignorant answers. Meaning when you make a decision based on what you see on TV (again not reality) you base your answer on Unreality and your preconceived opinions and preferences. Certainly not based on facts.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and freedom to ride what ever kind of bike they want. I myself have a 1993 FZR, 2000 VStar Classic and a 72 Ironhead rigid. I work in a shop that turns out a lot of great stuff from Bobber to Baggers. We are proud of that. If you happen to be one of the people disgusted by our winning Bagger then you will be disgusted by the entire motorcycle industry (you may already be, and that’s ok). Why you ask? Because Baggers are everywhere. Currently there are two new Bagger only magazines to be published the first of the year. Lots of builders are coming out with Bagger parts like we have been doing for years. And as far as the WFB, it’s everywhere just pick up a motorcycle magazine. The positive reactions to our Bagger far outweigh the negative.
Express your opinions as much as you want, I encourage it! Support Jay and Chopsmiths he and his crew built a cool bike. Just know that if you don’t ask questions to get the facts and you choose to base your opinions on an hour of television…..chances are you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Peace Joe

Brian seems like a really nice guy with a truly amazing catalog collection and a seriously huge limit on his Visa. But what was actually fabricated on that thing? What would stop anyone with a bunch of catalogs from ordering that same bike? Seriously, short of the paint, anyone could have bolted that together. I have no hang-ups about the bagger thing but I really like to see some ingenuity and creative effort in these shows.
Hey Mudhero, Your right, now anyone can! The parts we made for the build off bike we manufacture and are available through your local Drag Specialties Dealer. Many of them are listed on our website www.kustombaggers.com. Thanks for the Bump! Joe
I've been reading some stuff on this board and I've got to ask...Is this a joke? The fellow at Klockwerks has obviously tried to use the Biker Build Off show to push his stupid parts. They tried to push them on me at a hotbike show. I bet the Discovery Channel is real happy about a guy that doesn't build anything suckering them into believing that he is a custom bike builder. But what really kills me is that KWs bike (and I have seen it in person)is not even the least bit impressive for a custom bike. Now, if you were to compare it to a tricked out stock bagger I would say it could hold it's own but It's still FARRRRRRR....from the best bagger that I've seen, not to mention there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD that it's the worlds fastest! J Harts bike on the other hand was completely handcrafted and a beautiful machine(I have seen it in person as well). I had a word w/ Hart at a local show (Louiville baby!)and he was a lot of fun to talk to and I was impressed that such a jokester could be as knowledgable as this young man. Hart told me that he had lost but surprisingly had nothing but nice things to say about the other guy. After seeing both bikes I couldn't beleive it!!!I can say that I would be "so mad that I couldn't see straight"! In fairness I will also add that I spoke with someone from Klockwerks and they were very nice as well but I think they "pulled a fast one" on the show.
Hey guys/girls It's just a build off! I appreciate everyone stickin' up for me but you've gotta stay "in bounds". Brian and I had an awesome time doing the show, Everyone did! when my girl Bethany commented on some cool boots that Laura was wearing...she went home and sent her a pair! (I won't tell you what Brian sent me! shhhhhhh...) Joe is absolutely right. You don't get to see everything that happens during the build... They didn't show me doing my Pilates and yoga every morning, nor did they show my photo shoot for that GQ cover! Talk about some bull !!! But seriously though, they don't show everything and they can't. Those guys built a well thought out machine that was really sharp, ran like a charm and was fast as _ _ _ _! I encourage you guys to check out this page I found about this very subject http://www.thebeachcruiser.com/blog/2006/11/26/the-beachcruiser-one-mans-opinion-2.html
Also, I just finished another build off that's scheduled to air in Feb. I went up against Gard Hollinger from LA CHOPRODS and once again had a BLAST! I really enjoy this stuff. Thanks for watching. - Jay

Milkdogg said it right. Klock won because the dude is good. Was it differant? Yep! That too is good. Be a boring world if all was the same old same old. Hart did one fantastic job. And so did Klock. And for a bagger to win in of all places Stuguis. I'd have to say it had to be one great bagger. I've built a bike or two in 40 plus years. All choppers not customs. And now we see it is a time for the bagger. I've seen in the last few years some great builds too. I'm old school but I like to see them all. BSA, Norton, Triumph. Metric. It's all about getting in the wind. Klock did a good job. Come on now. Give the man his credit.
