That was another great episode last night! The only thing that really annoyed me was the way Paulie kept referring to his dad as "Sr." I don't know why that got up under my skin--but drove me crazy. Just call him Dad. Thanks for letting me rant.
I was thinking the same thing. I have noticed that ever since the last big fight they had, where all they showed was the whole in the door. Since then Jr has refered to his dad as SR on the show??
You know what...that is the serve and volley. They at one another's necks......Like AC/DC said, "Who made Who." Let them come to terms on their time. We as fans for some reason want in....in so much. Bottom line is, its none of our business. Some will argue that if they put themselves out there then it is everyone's business. To a certain extent I agree. We watch, Discovery solicits advertising dollar, OCC provides entertainment, providers give service, we subscribe. Subscriptions pay all of the above. Welcome to America. Capitalism at its best.............HOO-RAH!
I'm just wondering what the problem is. Wouldn't be surprised if money had something to do with it after all, it is the root of all that is not good...
Sr is probably taking the lion's share of the money. It's his setup, Jr won't have gotten the chance without Sr. so who knows? I'm sure Jr's side would be his designs did it all. They need each other to continue, business is business and the old have the experience to make things happen. If Jr. goes I don't think either one will do well in the long run.
They do need each other we agree. The way I see it though is that if two people equally need each other. They should be equal partners. Didnt Mikey say online that his dad and brother started OCC. I think this thing still boils down to equality in the business.
Hello everyone. I'm new here, but I have been reading posts on this forum on and off for a long time. Now before I get totally flamed, may I ask a question? Why is everyone reading into what Jr. and Sr. say in referring to one another? I have heard Paulie refer to Paul Sr. as Senior many times. Yes, they have tension between them, but let us not forget that they also love one another. I had a father very much like Paul Sr., but he didn't love any of his kids. I never remember him saying, "I love you," like he did to Paulie that one epi where they were at Sr's house for lunch and to talk out things. I think what might be important here is remember that when Paulie is at work Paul Sr. is "Senior" to everyone there. So maybe he was just being one of the guys and referring to him the way everyone else does.

Just a thought.[/quote]
My boyfriend loves the show. I guess I do to. Sr is useless as far as running any business . He gets in their way and incapable of building himself. That business if it wasnt on tv would only run due to Paulie as Sr only waste time .For tv he is great . Paulie-Vinnie-Richie are the workers and Paulie the designer though Vinnie-Richie could if had to. Sr contributes nothing.
Also, Senior is a very successful business man. He started Orange County Iroworks over 30 years ago and he did very well at it before selling to Danny. Also, if Junior was running the business, I believe it would fail horribly. You also need to remember, Senior was building and riding bikes when Paulie was still a kid. He knows how to build.
When you see Senior in there interfering with the build, keep in mind, it's only what we see on the television. It's edited to be that way. I wouldn't be surprised if in reality, he does very little interfering with his employees, and even gets his hands dirty. For the camera guys to get 90 minutes of show, they film anywhere from 60 to 100 hours of work, depending on the complexity of the design and how many episodes they're working on. That means for every minute of show we see, the camera crew films an hour.
silvia, jr cant show up on time or work full hours per week without disappearing so dont think he could run the business. he only knows how to build bikes and get parts. sr obviously manages the company well or it and ironworks wouldve been bankrupt long before the show even started. he's had a lot on his shoulders for years and it shows thru his stress so he's anything but useless.
There is probably nothing to it, but I wonder if anyone else here has read or heard of the weird little gossip bit that said something like: There exists an out-take reel of a fist fight that broke out between sr. and jr. later on in the day of that one episode where Senior broke the shop door down and Paulie went running out the back... ?? I cannot remember where I read that now.
Richie was the main star in Happy Days,he later became a producer and made some lame movies, you might remember him as Opie.Oh, Paul Sr is the brains of the outfit,His ideers is what made what he made that he made the way he made it,....at least thats the way I heard it.
