Please...please have mercy on your viewers American Chopper and get that idiot Jason OFF camera...he is annoying and a smart-azz to Paul and Paulie,in fact i saw him being a smart-azz to a client on an episode also....he is not an asset to the show in any way, shape or form...and truth-be-told,if Paul Sr and Paulie knew anything about computers they would see he is not the computer whiz they seem to believe he is...at all...period! Doesn't matter one iota if he is "not a computer whiz". He just needs to be able to run that 3D program he uses to design the bikes. Your average Photoshop or Quark guru may not know anything about computers but may be a whiz with the programs they use day in and day out.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks he needs to go. He's so annoying. Anyone can be replaced right Paul Sr? So just replace him.

Also, why did his last name change?

He never did change his last name. It's always been Pohl. That was an editorial screw-up on Pilgrim Film's end of things.

On the first episode where he appeared, they had Jason's last name as Rhodes.

He's still a really bad character. He clashes with Jr and his whole attitude is crap. He's been told by Sr multiple times that he's just a concept artist, not a designer. Jr tells him what to draw, and he should draw it. I can't believe they would let vinnie go instead of trying to make him happy, and then not just outright fire this idiot.

Ok, for the 100th time ... NOBODY "LET" VINNIE GO ... VINNIE LEFT ON HIS OWN TO START HIS OWN BUSINESS. Why is that so hard to understand?? Were they supposed to chain him to a lift so he couldn't leave? He quit .. he left .. get over it.

Windman
Why would anyone in thier right mind ever want to leave such a fine establishment as OCC?

Never mind. The bigger question is why would anyone want to work there?

As in, Not trying to make Vinnie happy and keeping him as an employee, rather then just telling him "Ok have at it."

Well, on the "+" side you have to admit, it did make both Vinnie and Cody celebrities. Chances are they wouldn't have had the opportunity to break away and start their own place without the exposure they got on AC.

On the "-" side, had they stayed at OCC they would be doing the same thing over and over and over ... always playing second fiddle to Sr, Jr, and the useless idiot in the shorts and sweatshirt.

He was working at a start-up ... start-ups are notorious for long hours, tight deadlines, high stress. OCC and the cameras added "the next level" of dysfunction to the mix and Vinnie just had enough. I can tell you that if someone wants to leave, you can bait them back with money, benes, etc., but that won't make them happy. They'll eventually leave anyway so you might as well let them go the first time.

Vinnie did what was best for him and Paul(s) did the only thing they could do, let him go.

Good post. More money wasn't going to change the fundamental reason why Vinnie had to leave. And if Paul Sr. told Vinnie things would change if he stayed we all know that the Tuetel's wouldn't be capable of suddenly changing.

From personal experience of "hiring and firing", if an employee is unhappy and wants to leave and only stays for more money, that's a band-aid on the problem. Regardless of what some people think, money does NOT make you happy if you're working in a situation you don't like. It may make it more palatable for a short time but sooner or later that person will still leave unless you get to the root of their unhappiness and change whatever that may be. And if Vinnies burning desire was to get away and start his own business, nothing was going to stop him from going after that.
