It was stated on the show that Garamda Teutul had the final word, but it was never specified if there were any other contestants for her to choose from. It showed the Teutuls choosing the final contestants, but it seemed to me that they had already been determined. However, that could just be my suspicious, cynical mind working overtime.
Did anybody do any type of background check on the winners before they were finalized/notified?
Good point Wit, answer seems not. Probably an oversite. (You know the expression; a dog with 2 owners dies of starvation)
i can give the same advice to everyone for free; Lie through your teeth. seems that's what Joe did.

I thought his winning was a bit shady too but was one of the requirements for winning that the person be poor and destitute?

I think anyone in that position should buy an OCC bike if they want one that badly. I would...I wouldn't wait for a contest and try to win one--but that's just me...then again, I'd probably get yelled at if I bought one

The whole thing about Joseph McClendon III winning the bike itself doens't bother me. What does bother me is I felt that he manipulated the bike in order to make his point known and push is book for it.

Personally, I think no one with a number at the end of their name deserves to win a bike. (Or at least who actually use the number in their name like a title.) How arrogant.

I also have to wonder if Joseph wasn't expecting someone to find out his "little secret" about what he does, who he is associated with, and what the deal is.

Just so people know, my rantings regarding Joe McClendon has nothing to do with me wanting his bike. I wouldn't take that thing if it was offered to me. If they were to make it right and take it back from him, I say give it to anyone else on this forum BUT me. frog comes to mind seeing as everybody knows he was robbed...LOL.

i am bit lost in the conversation, so what i have gathered is that this DUDE entered the fantasy bike contest, stating he is hard done by because his mom died... he is a rich bloke and could afford one of his own?????? what i also gathered is many people are pee'ed off as its deemed unfair. okies???? dpending on the situation and full information on this matter. having lost a parent could of been very depressing which would lead into possiable mental conditions, for occ to reward this dude with a bike he must of been pretty close to his mother, i would assume occ reward him to be a winner to cheer him up, winning a bike is alot better both financially and psychologically.... like winning 5th division lotto... you spend like 12 bucks buying the ticket and jump around with joy when you win 5th devision which is like 20 bucks here in australia... i am not taking side here i agree someone less financial would of been better of winning. but as i am learning to be a psychologist i have to look on both sides of the fence....

In the video that was shown, it seems that our JoeIII was not able to grant his dying mothers wishes be cause of financial concerns. There used to be a TV program called "Queen for a Day", the contestants would tell thier tales of woe and the worst would win a washing machine. This aired in the 50s, but Joe's presentation was straight from this concept. It worked well for him and I guess that maybe there were some of us, including myself, were jealous for not stooping as low as Joe in our attempt at winning an OCC bike.

No, old Joe could have (in his own words afforded to) built one himself and should have because his supposedly built the first one himself and his momma made him promiss to build another one when he could. That means build one. Not have someone else do it for you... And I'm getting tired of saying it but the frog got robbed!!!

A girl frog would be a Frogette. I entered the contest with a video that was only 7 minutes too long, should of been 3. I enclosed a hot-wheels car for Mikey (bribe). I even asked for them to give the bike to the VFW National Home. They stated on the application that they could change the rules as they saw fit, I thought that I could assist in a few more changes. I wonder why I WAS ROBBED?
There used to be a TV program called "Queen for a Day", the contestants would tell thier tales of woe and the worst would win a washing machine.
Thats it. THATS IT!!! Let it be known from this day forward that we, the people of the American Chopper forum "DECREE" Joseph McClendon III, Be Ordained Queen Of The Fantasy Bike Contest... Everybody sing,(using the old Miss America song tune) 1 and 2 and 3 and There he is, Joseph McClendon III Queen of the fantasy bike contest winners, Oh there he is, the hard luck story boy, there he is, he made a promise to his momma (yea right) oh there he is, our hard luck boy. He had to sell his chopper to pay for her treatment proper (yea right) so he's our Queen For A Day Fantasy Bike Winner Boyyyyyy! Congratulations Joe. You won unfair and square. Hope you not only think of your momma every time you sit on her. Your bike that is, and I hope all the people you help with your "health and nutritional specialist business" are happy for you. Oh wait, or was it "founder of the SUCCELERATION RESEARCH GROUP a leading Peak Performance coaching organization that works with leaders in the political, entertainment and business communities internationally" you do? Which ever, I'm sure all the people you've helped over the years are very proud of you, whether it be a nutritional specialist or the head of a multi million dollar organization. I'm sure everyone is very proud of you. I know we are...

Now what ever gave you an idea like that drdeviant? You know, your right. I too am a believer in karma. We reap what we sow and old Joe's time will come when he will meet his maker. He talks about being honest and doing the right thing. I don't think he truly believes what he says. If so, how could he have "gotten over" the way he did. But your right, and with that, not another word out of me regarding the matter...

Oh, by the way drdeviant. I need a bit of your professional advice... Every time I move my arm this way "OUCH" it hurts like a son of a bit. In your professional opinion, what should I do regarding this matter???
