*The Dryvit Bike Episode (my thoughts) "The More things change... !"
First off I wanna stress how much i loved this episode. It had it all, Humor, drama, quality, suprises, and good balance of everything in it. And i must admit what I was looking forward to most was the moving into the new World HQ of course. And seeing that process. And of course, it didn't disapoint at all. I loved it. I felt bad for jQ who had to help move all the C&C machines out and the process based on what I saw on the episode seemed to move smoothly and fast, but i am sure it took alot longer than that to pull it off. It was cool to see Sr sign the final papers to own the building also. It was sort of surreal to see the moving into that building, and leaving that building like a ghost town as Paulie put it. ! WOW. So many great wonderful memories there. It's hard to believe that someone else now owns it. So that means, next time I go to see it, someone will be in there, and doing there thing. It'll be strange!. I mean, it was strange in April when i saw it completely abandoned.
I loved the moving in part as well, when they were getting all the lifts together, and they decided to move Sr's old one out and put it in the corner somwehere lol. I just knew that wasn't gonna be a good thing at all and I was right. I felt bad for Senior to be honest, but he's probably had that lift since like the 70's . THings are changing lol. It was just so neat to see the new shop and building, knowing I was in there, and saw everything. It was amazing. And it's pretty cool to me that the layout of the new shop is basically exactly like the old one. It might be even a bit smaller if you ask me. The placement of everything exact. Where the lifts are, and Sr's office!. I wonder who's office that was where Paulie and Jason were discussing the design of the dryvit Bike. I mean, Jason hadn't even got his computers up yet to design it. But yet they had the print of the drawing of the bike ready lol I am telling you they are magical!!. Miracle workers hehe.
The frame was nice, and it was neat to see Rick do his magic on the tank and make it into the shape of a penquin. I tell you, he never ceases to amaze me. It seemed like he whipped that tank up in like 30 seconds. And how he used that one steel to shape the head and beak was just astonishing. WOW! Ricky, you are bada$$!. I loved that tank. I felt bad when Sr came out and said it looked like a praying mantis or something. I didn't think it did at all. I guess Sr's left eye isn't working properly anymore hehe.
I am not gonna be crude here, but I didn't especially care for the 2 candidates they had come in to tryout for the job!. They might have the ability and craftsmanship to get the job done, but IDK, not my cup of tea. I like Michele. I might be a bit biast but i love her !!!. Bear did a pretty good job on the seat pan though. I gotta give credit where credit is due. If they can jet the job done then I say hire them!.
Now of course, the best part of the show of course was the railing incident as I call it. When Paulie and Sr tried puting up those railings on the outside of the Headquarters. I just was losing my stuff watching that. That was hilarious. OMG. It was a good old fashioned old school jr vs sr brawl. It was the typical i wanna go this way, no i wanna go that way. Typical earth is round, not it's sqaure style fight. This was one of the funniest fight's ever. These are the kind of fight's you can enjoy, because it doesn't get very personal or close to viloence ya know? This was comical. It was alot of fun to watch, and it's the kind of fight's im sure father's and sons have all the time, especially the world' smost famous father-son team, Paulie and Sr lol. When they disagree to disagree. Just because they can! That's what I felt. Never the less, with help from Mikey who found the situation amusing of course, and Joe, Ron and Steve who were the peanut gallery for the moment! Thank you guys for stepping in lol. But this has to rank as one of the funniest moments ever, and it looked very very cold out. That was just a classic classic moment. I watched it over 4 times. I watched the episode itself twice in a row. It ended, i rewinded and watched again. I always do that. I can't help myself, but that argument was great!!!. STAND OVATION for that. Great comedy and humor. !~ It goes to show,"The more things change, the more they stay the same.". OCC can go from being the basement to a small shop, to a bigger shop, to an even bigger shop, to a world HQ giant building, but the people that go in them don't change!. Paulie and Sr will never change!. No matter how famous or successful or popular they get!. And that's the beauty and the magic here.
Back to the build, paint comes in and it looks so amazing. I can't believe how much that looked like a penquin. Speaking of penguins. Could Paulie and Steve been less intersted in visiting the aquarium? My lord. They could've pretended to be excited to be there lol. Like Mikey said, that was the most he'd stoop to to get out of the shop! For me, that would've been so great. I love animals and mammals. I am more of a zoo guy. I would rather see bears, lions and tigers which the Teutuls get to see in Africa, and Australia and such, but they seemed bored to tears. Even when they got to touch the penguin. OH well.
One incident I must address is the JQ situation. When Christian and Rick needed a certain part made, and there seemed to be some tension there, and it was thick. Almost a behind the scenes deal. But Jim's whole attitude towards the parts was not good!. that's the most kind way I can put it. Because he acted like he didn't care at all. He might be backed up with work and what not, but the bike was almost finished, and all that was missing was those parts, and Christian especially seemed upset and that he wanted to Smack JQ!. I just wanna say something here, I think in an all out brawl with all the guys in the shop, Christian would be one of the last men standing!!!. Him and Joe of course. Maybe Paulie!. But Christian looks like he can throw down. I would not want to get between him and Jim if they went at it. But that was uncomfortable and intriguing to watch at the same time. Like it's been building for a while. Well,
Finally it was time to finish the bike and put the finish touches on. The tnak got bolted on and it looked like a definite penquin bike for sure. and the test ride was so cool because it looked like they took the bike for a different area of Orange County. Alot more mountains and such. that was the neatest test ride so far. I liked it alot, and this was a monumental episode. The first epi in the new HQ, the first bike built in the hQ. A very special show. From beginning to end. It went by very fast though. That's somehting I don't like about these 1 part episodes, but they do it in a way where they alot into one episode though. So it's not that big of a deal.
The unveil was great too. The dryvit employees loved the bike and that's whats important!. For a penguin bike, I must say I like it alot. Now they gotta do a host of animal bikes!!. A bear or big cat bike please!!!. My 2 fav animals!. Cover the thank in fur lol. Just kidding. But you never know. Next weeke's epi will be even better. The ny Giants bike!. Needless to say I am very excited about this one. With perhaps the grand opening footage and the unveil that we were at. Oh yeah, it's gonna amazing. I can't wait 6 days to see it. I got chills!. And I will rewatch this epi again tonight of course in case I forgot anything, but I think i covered the bases well here. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as me. Until next week..
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed my review,
