I've seen this on some show before & I agree that it's fascinating & something everyone would enjoy seeing. Wonder how much crab goes into their personal freezers? LOL. Maybe their sick of it though huh?

What I really don't want to see or hear anymore is Sig saying the work F***. I don't expect these captains to have pristine mouths but come on over 15 times in 1 episode. Maybe that is the only way he can motivate his crew to get the work done.

Please discovery, while it is crab fishing, remember you have plugged this as a family show and that is just unnecessary. However, given that it is Sig not to surprising.

Thanks for you accidental funniest post ever!

Mary Lynn
PS: I haven't had any for many many years but when my Brother in Laws to be had to Jump their Ship and rush to MN to be the Best Men in their little Brother and My Wedding, They arrived with 6 boxes of Jumbo, frozen wrapped in thin paper perfect legs! We ate them in every possible way. Best is Just with a little bit of garlic/soy sauce and butter! Scampi Style. Or just plain warm REAL butter Margarine not allowed. I always enjoyed their visits LOL We ate good!

Since you asked? One thing I would like to see is the inside one of one of the processing plants. The few the brave the Insane do go catch them and without them we couldn't enjoy them at all. But they don't just get off loaded then kick off their legs and shed their shells and hop in box's. Saying Yee Haw? *-) What about the in between? I saw about a 30 second snip that showed a few Crab on a belt and their legs getting popped off. The rest was Mike Rowe saying (What happens to the hockey pucks) not what he called them.. *-) They are ground up for fertilizer. I would like to see from Ocean floor to ready to ship! And I'm not trying to get myself on TV. I live in a place similar to Alaska called,
MINNESOTA??? "Land of 10 Thousand Lakes" is on our License Plates. But we call it something else. "Land of 10 Thousand Season's" But our Favorite is, Land of 2 Season's.
"Winter and Road Construction"

God Bless Them All!

This is a question/And what I would like to see. Does the Fisherman's Memorial have a list of names and Vessel's lost at Sea? Or could there be a link somewhere on the DC site with a memorial to them and list of their names? All of them!
This may go over like a lead balloon but I'm asking anyway. I'll never get to Alaska to throw a wreath upon the water and I would like to see the Memorial. Is that White Cross with the Raven sitting on it at the beginning all there is? My ex-husband and my Son's Father's name is memorialized somewhere there I hope?? I sure wish I could find something that would feel like closure. I did meet his best friend at the time his Boat went down on here and that was like striking Gold. But his footprints are everywhere the Old Captains and crew are and I've written to them all. I know they knew him, just never got around to my email or it's considered "Bad JuJu" in the words of Sig.

Capt's & crews wives or family home life, You know the ones we want. My hats off to all the wives for they must be the captain for homes, role of mother and father, Do the wives maintain household captain status once the boat captain is on shore?

Mike Rowe on the Northwestern (In training with crew) herd he got to park the Northwestern with Sig once.

Bloopers and out takes just like so many others want.

More footage planing, during, prep boat prior to departure, shopping, maintenance, how they get it done, who is in charge of such things Deck Boss? Captain? Both? All?

More sit down discussion but include Capt's & crew, maybe a reunion after a season? Not likely since they all just got paid and have to tend to the boat really wanting to go home, Hey film that.

I've got a question about the crabs themselves. It seems that they use the same bait all the time on the pots (herring, cod, salmon)...so how do they get only one species of crab (Opie, King Crab) to go in the pot at a time? How come when a pot is pulled it only contains all King Crab or all Opie? Do they restrict the entry hole size on the pots for just that type of crab?

I want to see more of the 'true footage' of the guys irritated at each other, the captains, and the camera crew, LOL! I have become such a "DC Junkie" that I know most of the crew by face and name! (By the way, I love the Northwestern, Time Bandit, Maverick, and the Cornelia Marie!!!) I love to see the pranks that they pull on each other, that is cool to see their sense of humor! Do they pull pranks on the camera crew??? Sending best of wishes to each captain, crew, boat, and camera crew!!! You have created a 'monster' because I can't get enough of "DC" as I watch it everyday, evening, and night that it is on!!! *Seaangelrainqueen*

I would like to know more about the town and see more pictures of places in Dutch Harbor. Are there schools there for the children? What does the airport terminal look like? (we really didn't get a good look when that greenhorn called it quits anf flew home). What does the food store look like? There must be gas stations there = what do they look like and what is the price for gas? Are there movie theatres there? We really didn't get a good look at the medical clinic when they went there.

Bloopers idea is a great one, but prolly not the best for the filming focus on Dutch Harbor. I'd say the support structure would be best checked out, perhaps where the crew spend their off time, where the boats are serviced, fueled, repaired, and of course how the crab are offloaded and perhaps follow a batch through processing. How and when the men get paid. Lots of great ideas.

I would love to see where they live off the boat, what they do for fun, see their spouses and families...just curious how they can sustain a family life when they are gone so long out at sea "crabbin". Would also love to know how the publicity has affected their lives...I know this may not be the type of info you were looking for...also what does it take to get ready to go out on a trip? Who does the cookin and cleaning...when do they sleep...can they shower on the boat? Inquiring minds want to know...thanks for a great show! I'm hooked. Also...how much time do they get to stay on dry land. I live on the coast in a small town in Massachusetts right near Scituate Harbor and it would be interesting to know those things. Take Care

[I would like to see more of the local people and their lives in dutch harbor too. Where the fisherman hang out (not just the bar) there are motels and stuff too.
Tell us, and we'll see what we can do.

Thanks,

Kristen
