i just thought I would take the time to applaud Murray Gamrath. He is a good friend to phil and helped him out when he needed him. He seems like hes a real stand-up guy. GOOD JOB MURRAY

Murray has been fishing the Bering for at least 20 years, last time I saw him was around 1990 and he was the engineer on a big longliner, I went to high school with him at Peninsula High in Purdy Washington, I was class of "77" and he was class of "80".

We are both from the Gig Harbor area and although the Harbor has a long history of the local salmon fishing fleet going to Alaska each year I know of only four that went to the Bering, Murray, Richard Foote, (Skipper of the F/V "All American"), Vic Stevens, who fished out of Kodiak and myself.

Murray seems like a great guy ... and I have tremendous admiration for him. Especially after watching him break the news of Phil's condition to his sons and the crew -- a real emotional whopper, and he handled it with care and grace. Not many people can do that.

You go, Murray!!

Murray is one of the most wonderful guys I have ever seen. He's great to have on the boat based on his knowledge, and obviously we now know what kind of a friend he is to his boss and friend.

I hope the season plays out well for the CM and Murray has a great deal of success. This way Phil might relinquish some of his Captain's duties to Murray which would only improve his health. GO MURRAY!!

I was very impressed by Murray. He stepped up and was so compassionate towards Phil and his sons. Definately a class act.
