I nkow this has already been posted. But I think it deservres some detailed description. Getting the bird from the farm to the freezer involves many different dirty jobs. From the start to the finish. Lets see Chicken catcher at the farm, Llive hanger at the plant, Back up killer,(a very dirty and nasty job), Blood pit or bleed out pit cleaning, Live hang and picking room clean up, Back up Venter, Transfer table operator, Gut puller, Inspecter (A USDA possition), Trimmer, There are many more.
In working ir the red side of the plant or also called the Eviseration side you are bambarded with all kinds of smells, sights, and temp extreems, not to mention in some places the humidity is really high along with the temp it is bad. In other places it is no longer a mater of just the odor. The odor can get so thick that it becomes a flavor. Mmmmmm Mmmm good, any body want to go to KFC? In working on many of the jobs I have you will not come out smelling like a rose. Far from it. although your house cat will love you when you come home. Working in te red side you will come to respect you shower in a whole new way.
I really think it should be looked into. THere is a lot of dirty, smelly, sticky, gooy, nasty jobs to do.
