Yep, for over 30 years my husband has repaired Caterpillar construction equipment in the field. Ok, usually not in a field, usually in a landfill, muddy construction site, or other dirty location. But the worst by far is in landfills. Sometimes the trash gets caught in the machinery, and he has to pull it out by hand. Wire gets caught around the tires, garbage gets jammed up inside the frame.....its a very dirty job.
