I just watched a re-run of your 100th show extravaganza (nice song, Mike), and it made me appreciate your show more than I already did. I'd hate for the show to end due to lack of ideas, so I figured, "Heck, why not suggest my job?" I'm a youth pastor in Conway, AR, a career choice that might not seem too dirty at first... But lemme tell ya, youth ministry is more than Koom-By-Ya and Amazing Grace.
My youth group has an annual event we call "The Braveheart Reinactment." Basically, we find a huge field, fill up big plastic tubs with various messy foodstuffs (chocolate syrup, eggs, mashed potatoes, ketchup, mayo, oatmeal, etc.) and split into two teams. We paint our faces Braveheart-style, don some sweet kilts, line up in the middle of the field, and go nuts. Believe me, this is DIRTY. You'll find oatmeal in places you didn't know you even had for weeks. It's a perfect example of how "dirty" youth ministry can be. "We'll sing songs, shake hands... it should be fun."
I hope to hear back from you guys soon. Keep up the good work, and stay dirty.
- Aaron
