At the Oakdale Livestock Aucrtion Yard (Oakdale, CA 209 847-1033 Contact: George Gookin) They used to castrate the bulls with a pocket knife & toss the testicals in an empty restuarant size mayonaise jar to freeze for later consumption. Don't know if they have updated their methods but it still must be a dirty, bloody job.

One of the girls who used to go to my school would tell us some of the jobs she did on her farm. One involved castrating the bulls. All I can say is - ugghh.

I think the best way to do this show would be to send the film crew to a ranch in the spring when they gather the cattle to brand and cut (castrate) the calves. A ranch that keeps a fire going to cook the "oysters" would be great! Don't knock it till you've tried it!!! *Hint* Prairie Oysters are best sliced, breaded, deep fried, and washed down with cold beer.

The local Vet when I was growing up would say "your not a real cowboy unless you Casterated using your teeth". And yes I saw him do it.
