Greetings from Sonoma County! I'm writing on behalf of my boyfriend, who works as a sous chef at a nature resort in Healdsburg. This resort offers you not one, but TWO unique opportunities to get down and get dirty, and you're cordially invited!
Job One--Kitchen assistant. You'd be working alongside my boyfriend, preparing barbeque-style meals for over 150 guests per night. The kitchen temperature regularly tops out at over 110 degrees, the chefs prepare food over a super-hot and super-smoky fire pit, there's plenty of chopping, marinating and prep work to be done, and cases upon cases of raw chicken to be de-boned. Seriously. My boyfriend smells like an uncooked game hen when he's done for the evening. Then, just when you think your day is over, you get to mop floors! Yay!
Job Two--Nature resort assistant. This involves driving around the dusty grounds, taking care of all the various animals that call the resort home. These include giraffes, serval cats, Watusi cattle and warthogs. And all these animals make poo. In vast, vast quantities.
So Mr. Rowe, pick your poison--raw chicken or warthog poo? We'd love to see you up here!
