I love the nastiness that springs to mind when thinking of ideas for future "Dirty Jobs" shows... I've got a couple of ideas for you that I'm honestly clueless on as far as the specifics of the dirty part of the jobs, but based on sheer foulness of odor when driving by the facilities I'd have to say that anything having to do with an Animal Rendering Facility (what the hell do the pieces and parts get rendered into anyway?!?) or Mink Farming would definitely qualify for another putrid, gut-wrenching task or two.
i know that animal rendering is possibly the dirtiest job ever because every job i have ever had has been on the show already. as a hog and cattle rancher i know what happens at rendering plants. plus my friend's family owns one. Dead animals from animal production sites are trucked to a rendering plant where the smaller dead animals are ground up and cooked. the cattle are hided out by pumping air into their stumach to ease the hide removal process. My friend told me a story about how he was doing this and he cut to deep and the cow exploded covering from head to toe in dead animal flesh, even had some in his mouth. As far as what they make most of it is turned into dog and cat food, other feed by-products, leather products, and now even biodiesel. DIRTY JOB. I think that the guys from dirty jobs should look into this, it could cover a whole episode. PS Mike Rowe ROCKS!
