I am an avid enthusiast of using alternative fuels. With that I have more or less sucessfuly adapted my home heating system to burn straight up waste vegetable oil. I collect the oil from a few different sources each with there own challenges to staying clean. Rolling drums of oil down flights of stairs, collection drums with more solid mytery in them than oil. Trips on the long island ferry with huge totes of oil on my pickup garnering all kinds if strange and concerned looks. Then I have to process the oil in my basement turned refinery competeing with the cat for who smells worse! Then I burn it in a modified boiler. Affirmation that this routine is dirty sometimes if not all the time came recently when I had to clean the chimney myself! A job in itself that I did not finish and perhaps you would like to help me with. So to sum it up the oil is unquestionably yuck, my means of transporting the oil is labor intensive and perhaps amusingly dodgy, the cleaning of the oil reveals all kinds of mystery bits that make you wonder what you're eating! And the boiler needs to be cleaned frequently involving lots of scrubbing and a sooty mess.
