Hey Mike,
My boyfriend of 5 1/2 years works at a chicken farm. Now I know you've done farm work before...even chicken farms, but this is a little different. Of all the horrible jobs my boyfriend has told me about (including packing eggs, which includes sorting out the rotten ones) the worst is scraping out the pit. The pit, from what I'm told and what I've seen, is a huge depression in the floor below where the chickens are housed. This pit collects all the chicken pee and poo, and periodically needs to be cleaned out. Much of the work is done using a bobcat, but as you know, bobcats are not delicate machines and they miss a good bit of the mess. In comes my boyfriend, his dad, shovels, and a power washer. Need I say more. He works at Sunny Side Egg farms, a sauders subsidiary, in Westminster MD. I don't need to say it twice. It's D-I-R-T-Y!
Katie
