Every year our group come out and do XStream Cleanup. This is on the heels of Chad Pregracke (http://www.livinglandsandwaters.org/About/chad.htm) and work in the Iowa/Illinois Quad City area cleaning out the creeks and rivers. For years this has gone on, and as always, the Mississippi, and its small feeder streams and rivers get convoluted and polluted with everyday crud that washes in and really disrupts flow and the habitat in these tributaries.

For 4 years, our family and Cub Scout group gopes out in waders, heavy waterproof gloves, and anything else needed to help pull out tires, bicycles, tarps, outboard motors, and everyday scum from these streams. Our port of call is Bettendorf, IA where we help keep Duck Creek clean from this crud each year.

Please make it an opportunity to come out and help us this year on August 19th, 2006. Visit www.xstreamcleanup.org for more info. We'd love to have you!
