Not only is this job DIRTY it is also DANGEROUS !!! You have to deal with blood,stool and urine on a daily basis. You have to work with numerous different trays of instruments that are put in EVERY part of the body and I mean EVERY PART !!! You work for hours in the decontamination room(gloved,gowned,masked) elbow deep in blood,stool and urine. Not a very glamorous job,but without us the OR would come to a stand still. After the instruments are sent thru the washers they have to be put together and sterilized in Autoclaves of temps of over 200 degrees. This job is DIRTY,HOT and DANGEROUS !!!
