Ok, one of my first jobs was working stock for a fast food/dairy bar place (similar to a Dairy Queen). Part of that job was emptying the used fry oil and grease from the cooked food into this vat of abomination out back. Every once and a while this vat would get picked up from some company and I was told they "would make soap" from it. While I'm pretty sure this is true, it might be an interesting process to experience - the turning of used, disgusting grease and oil into soap... of some sort.

I don't necessarily have the name of a company, but if one would contact any fast food place I'm sure they could find the name of a shop in the Bay area for you guys to hit up. Just ask them what they do with the old fryer oil and burger grease - there's alot of it made at these places, so ONE of them has to be able to help you out.

Good luck! Smile
