I work on the docks in Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor. We are the I.L.W.U. locals 13,94,63. We have have a few dirty jobs that would definitely be a big hit on the show. Jobs with big machinery for Mike to operate or drive(LOL), and plenty of places to get dirty. One job is especially dirty. We call it L.B.212. Coal Dock. Its a dock that loads/unloads ships of this black mess. Its dirty enough that when you wash up it looks like you just put eyeliner on. Thats for men at least haha. Even with the goggles and mask on you it still gets threw. You can be down in a tunnel shoveling away, or on the dock working with the train. Thats just L.B. 212. Theres sulfur & cement if you want more options. We also have lashing all around the Harbor. Lashing is done on the ship with containers. Its consist of steel bars and turn buckles and lots of grease thats just gets everywhere. These bars and buckles hold the containers to the ship. Great jobs that get you dirty, Oh and SAFETY always comes first. So Mike Rowe and the crew of Dirty Jobs, come down to the biggest harbor in the U.S. and lets get dirty. Local 13 style. Thanks for reading.
