The company I work for provides services for the removal of Coatings, Sealants and Corrosion by-products, and replace coatings. Coatings and Sealants are another name paint, primer, or other coverings to proctect metal surfaces, concrete and/or other items. Our company is composed of four (4) areas: Commerical, Industrial, Marine and Historical Restorations. However I will be discussing our Industrial and Marine areas. We provided these services on U.S.Navy, U.S.Coast Guard and merchant ships, Oil Rig Platforms, Pulp Paper Industry, Refinery Industry, Petro-Chemical Industry, Storage Tanks and Lead Abatement. There are several methods we use to do this service. Ultra-High Pressure (UHP) Water Jetting utilizing 40,000 psi. This blasts the coatings and corrosion by-products off metal surfaces. Another way is by utilizing Abrasive Grit Blasting to accomplish removal. There are also different type of power tools to remove the non-skid on the decks of ships. Of course when the previous aspects of the job are completed, we have to reapply the coatings, sealants, primer and non-skid. This type of work is dirty and nasty and very time consuming. But hey, somebody has to do it, right? It takes alot of time, planning and coordination to ensure these jobs are completed on schedule and done in safe manner. If you think that these are a few dirty jobs that Mike can tackle, please contact me for more information.
