Hunterdon County New Jersey does a hazardous waste disposal day every 3 months. My son and I went to the last one on July 8th. Items that can be brought for disposal range from paint to fuel oil sludge and everything in between. Once Hundreds of resident bring their waste on the same day. Once you wait in line for about an hour it's time to drop off your load of waste and that's when the workers start to get dirty. Each can of paint is hacked open with a big hatchet and dumped into a huge container. Jugs of motor oil and antifreeze get sliced open and spilled out and thrown into another bin. Ther are forklifts dumping the empty yet still dripping paint cans into open top containers. Car batteries are piled up into a giant pyramid. In closing it was quite a dirty site. The website that refers to when the next cleanup day is and what is accepted is below. Thanks for your consideration. http://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/depts/miscinfo/cleanup.htm
