If you are really having a hard time finding something I think you should go back to a lot of the farms and factories and more shows. It looks like the cast has lots of fun on all of the shows and I know that a lot of the audience loves to see that. So my idea is to go back a visit a lot of the places that you have already done. I think you should call it searching for work. And at the end of all of the DirtyJobs "shurching for work specials" you should ask the employer to suggest shows or people that can help. And there for you still get people watching and may get more ideas. I really enjoy the show and will help the best I can to keep it going. So good luck and I hope it all works out.

sincerly, Spencer Smile

We are a contracting company from south eastern Kentucky. We work in the oilfield industry and the dirty job I have for you guys is cleaning tanks. We take in dirty oil that oil and gas companies don’t want or can’t do anything with and lay the heat and chemicals to it and clean it up. When we do this all the dirt and mess falls to the bottom of the tanks the oil is stored in. After awhile the dirt builds up in the bottom and we have to clean the tanks. We end up taking the door off the back of the tank and take big paddles to scrape the junk to you and sometimes have to get in and shovel it out. We also have big filters that have to be cleaned out which can get very messy.

Well There's a factory here called The ANDERSON, My boyfriend works there his name is Darron. It has different parts of the factory. He's worked in Grain, Pesticides, & now kitty litter. He comes home smelling like some seriously foul things. He's also come home covered in green staining ink & some yellow dye that has stained so many of his shirts. He has to wear face mask & respirators & eye wear. They mix everything from manure to old fermented produce to make their fertilizer & pesticides. I've never smelled anything so foul on someones clothing. This is definitely a dirty job for you.

My company is Rainbow Fin co. We make fins for surfboards. We are a family owned and run company. The process starts with putting fiberglass and resin on a glass sheet and waiting for it to dry. Then the fin is outlined and cut out on a bandsaw. Then it goes to the shaping room where the foil is applied to the fin using a 13 lb. grinder. Then it goes to rough sanding and fine sanding rooms to be prepped for the spray finish. This job is sticky from the resin and itchy from the fiberglass.

Well the job of refinishing bathrooms can be quite dirty. I work for Rub-a-Dub bathroom refinishing. We refinish bathroom walls, floors, sinks, and bath tubs. First we either strip what needs to be painted or we scrap all excess soap scum, paint, or vomit you know the usual stuff that could be in a bathroom. Next you clean whats bein painted with two cleaners. Next we tape off the area thtat is to be painted doesn't sound bad until your layin on your back in a bathroom floor for bout an hour. After that we clean the area with two diffent types of chemicals which have a very stout smell. Then we prime the area then top coat it with paint spryers. which fills the whole area with paint dust and spary. This job may not sound like one of the dirty jobs but trust me when your scrappin stuff off a shower floor with a razor blade and god knows wat is comin off it... let me know how that makes u feel we are located in Blount County Alabama if you guys happen to be interested contact me at mcm_cole@yahoo.com

American Phoenix Inc. in Eau-claire Wisconsin produces rubber for different companies. You start out at the weigh up belt where you throw 80lb. rubber bales where it then moves to the mixer and it is mixed with different chemicals and carbon black. Then it is flattened and stacked. Trust me this is very dirty. You will leave covered in carbon black. Thanks. Corey.

Not sure if this has been done on the show yet. But I used to work for a Mink Farm. Evil little things mink are. The best time to go to one would be while they are separating (when they separate the babys from the parents) or vacinating or pelting.

My parents own Keystone Candle, and we hand make all our candles. We can get very messy with mixing the wax, dye and scent and other additives and then hand pouring or dipping the candles. It would be the "BEST SMELLING" dirty job ever!

I have a job within my family to nominate for the show, Butchering. Slaughtering animals might sound like a 1-2 job to most, but its probably one of the dirtiest jobs out there. The system concludes of a long bloody, smelly, and dirty days work.

A normal days schedule:
  • Get to clients house.
  • They tell you which animal to shoot.
  • We get guns and bullets ready.
  • Shoot the animal.
  • Slit its throat.
  • Pull up to it.
  • Roll it over on its back.
  • Cut of its feet.
  • Split ut open.
  • Cut the brisket.
  • Wench it up.
  • Skin the rest of the animals back down.
  • Cut the head off.
  • Cut it in half.
  • (If its a beef, we would then quarter it.
  • When we're done there we go back to the shop, and unload the animals.
  • We weigh the animals, then put them in coolers. (Pork hangs 2-4 days - Cows 12-14.)
  • Our final step is cutting it on the saw, wrapping it, grinding the burger and stuffing the burger.

Animals of our usual variaty iclude beef, pork, lamb, goat, and so on.

I firmly believe Butchering here at the shop would make a great and dirty show for all of you at Discovery Channel. From the blood to the guts. Thankyou for reading out submission and please consider us for this show. Smile

My company, JCN Building Science, located in Harbeson, Delaware is a building science company that handles peoples complaints about how their home is not performing properly. Unfortunately for us, most of the problems are located in the attic or crawl space. In order to fix a house that is an energy hog or one that has mold and moisture problems, we are relegated to the bowels of the homes we work on.

An attic in the middle of July is about as fun as a sharp stick in the eye! And a crawl space that is like a petrie dish with who knows what growing or living in it isn't a whole lot better. We take these areas, and with the use of many different materials, fix the problems we find.

When working in an attic it can get to 135 degrees and the insulation sticks to you and the sweat just doesn't stop. To add fuel to the fire, we also apply a very sticky, nasty spray foam to the roof deck, which requires the use of material that is being applied at 120 degrees. The attic is very hot and miserable.

In the crawl spaces, we will install a drainage system to control the bulk water, remove all the mold infested insulation and rotted debris on the floors, as well as the mostly dead, and sometimes live, animals and reptiles we discover. The most annoying are the "Sprickets" which inhabit these dank areas. They are an alien looking cross between a cricket and a spider. Some call them cave crickets other call them camel crickets. In any case, they can jump a country mile and their feces that covers the areas the inhabit make the crawl spaces even more enjoyable. With full PPE, tyvek suits and respirators in place, our crew attacks a house and when we are completed, the house is very energy efficient, comfortable and the crawl space is nice enough to enjoy a few libations after the work is done! You can see some of our work at our web site WeHateMold.com. I believe Mike would thoroughly enjoy a few days of wallowing in mud and diving into 15" of fiber-glass insulation on a hot summer morning! It would be an honor to have Dirtiest Jobs visit the Delaware Beach area and work with us.

Mike, you should try housekeeping at a hospital!!! A housekeeper at hospitals cleans labor delivery rooms and C section rooms. It's a really disgusting job, and you see ALOT of stuff!! The grossest part is probably when women come in for labor that have taken castor oil and they can't hold anything in! Really sick - but it's an idea. Or when you clean a C section room and blood is all over the walls! YUCK!!!!

I work for a company called BW Maintenance. We drive customized parking lot sweepers. Basically we drive around the parking lot and suck up all the trash with the truck but we also have to use leaf blowers to blow off store fronts, corners, and between cars. I think doing a show like this would help people see just how much trash people throw out of their cars onto parking lots. maybe it would help eliminate some of the pollution problem.

I work at an ice cream truck headquarters in South Central, PA. Just being an ice cream man isn't a very dirty job, but the behind the scenes work is very nasty and would make for a great episode. The name of the company is Chilly Dilly's. I think that this would be a good episode because it would be a funny episode and everyone loves the ice cream man Chilly Dilly's

Mike needs to follow a Lawn mowing crew around for a while. I have a small lawn business and there are days in the summer that the temp. gets in the 90's with the humidity that seems to be 150. Try weed eating a bank that you can't stand on, grass and trash hitting your face, sweat getting in your eyes and it's all in a days work. Come check it out if you dare!

I have an excellent recommendation to propose for a show. I am an intern for the malacology/ecology department of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. My fellow coworkers and I get uber dirty on a daily basis. We spend copious amounts of time in feces/pollution laden rivers surveying the native Minnesota mussel populations (a number of which are endangered). We are a dynamic and dysfunctional group of SCUBA diving scientists who are HUGE fans of "Dirty Jobs." An average day would consist of us audcaiously trekking to a random remote part of Minnesota using a road atlas to locate back-country roads that cross over streams in need of surveying, donning our dive gear, mudfighting, meandering up a river-bend only to find a herd of cows wading about, getting covered in slime while gathering mussels, and all th while uncovering hidden treasures of the deep such as skulls and refridgerators. We would love to host Mike Rowe and give him a taste of our dirtyness!

    Sincerely,
    Brendan and MNDNR Interns
