Hey Mike,

Just wanted to let you know Dirty Jobs is one of my favorite shows!! I've been thinking for a while about what dirty job you could do and this is what I've come up with.

I’m currently attending Texas A&M University Kingsville and thought it would be awesome if you would come work at the King Ranch located in Kingsville TX. It’s the largest ranch in the United States (825,000 acres) and is one of the most famous ranches in Texas. The King Ranch is full of history and dirty jobs that I think it’s perfect for you to come. You and the viewers can learn what it takes to keep up such a large ranch and how hard these ranchers and cowboys work.

The King Ranch is involved in ranching, farming, publishing, retail, and eco-tourism.
*One of the main founders, Richard King, upbred the stallions and mares of the Wild Horse Desert (the land between the Rio Grande and Nueces River). Their descendants are some of the finest quarter horses in the world. They have quite a few horses on their ranch which require a lot of dirty hard work. They of course have cattle on the ranch because let’s face it, it’s not really a ranch unless there’s cattle. The King Ranch is famous not only for their quarter horses but for their cattle as well. The King Ranch developed the first officially recognized American Beef Breed, the Santa Gertrudis. The King Ranch is still genetically progressing the Santa Gertrudis breed by utilizing EPDs (Expected Progeny Differences), DNA fingerprinting, embryo transfer, genomic selection criteria and AI to improve the Santa Gertrudis and to measure progress against their peers. I don’t know about you but all that sounds dirty to me. Either way the cattle and horses will be a dirty job because you know you will more than likely have to deal with poo, something you have hands on experience with Wink LOL.

*You can also get dirty at the King Ranch farms. The king ranch farms are approximately 60,000 acres of cotton and milo. The King Ranch also owns and operates two sod production farms. Again I’m sure they have plenty of wonderful dirty jobs for you.

*The King Ranch also has a saddle shop. They make their own saddles in the shop and I figured you would be the perfect person to help make one. Check this website out it discusses the history of the King Ranch craftsmen. http://www.king-ranch.com/saddle_shop.html

**Last but not least, did I mention the King Ranch has an agreement with the Ford Motor Company. The FORD KING RANCH F-150. I thought this little bit of info might intrigue you more to come on down to Kingsville lol. After all you have done quite a bit of Ford commercials.

I think it would be great if you would come to the King Ranch. It would be nice for the viewers to learn about ranching and a little bit of Texas’s history.
I've never been to the King Ranch which is sad because I'm from South Texas and attending my second year at TAMUK. If you and the crew come to the King Ranch I hope I will be invited to tag along too....not to work (I'll leave that to you) but to see what actually goes on that is not seen by visitors and watch you try to perform the dirty jobs. Afterwards David, Adam, Doug, Troy, Chris and you are more than welcome to come to my parents house for a barbeque. Steak, sausage, ribs, chicken...."I can smell it now." Big Grin

There's probably even more dirty jobs for you besides the ones I just mentioned so here are some phone numbers and websites that you may want to look at.

King Ranch Inc. (832) 681-5700
