Now I know it's all about dirty job, but what about dirty volunteer work. I volunteer for the building committee at the Buffalo Central Terminal in Buffalo, NY. Now remember this is all volunteer work so we don't get paid for the effort. Our jobs here range from sealing up broken up windows to sweeping up dusty hallways, hosting events that are held on the main concourse...oh yes and the continued restoration of this historic landmark. Just today I was up on the roof of the concourse. The 80 year old roof is starting to leak so we have to remove all the old reinforced concrete tiles which range from 20-120 lbs. It takes two people to move one of these tiles, and once there off the roof we walk them into the 6th floor office and keep them spaced out around the floor. Now thats one dirty and tough job. Other jobs include pumping water out of the pitch black basement to keep the basement dry...the list could go on and on until the entire building is fully restored to its' 1920's grandeur.
