How about floating in a small row boat in a sewage lagoon and pulling up the aerators that rest on/in the sludge on the bottom to scrub them, by hand with a small scrub brush? Been there done that twice a year. My boss Doug and I work for the City of Milo, Iowa, and each year we have to do this to keep the bubblers clean.
