While hiking down Bright Angel trail in the Grand Canyon, I was greeted by maintenance workers repairing the trail. We are talking about a big jack hammer clearing the way and moving rocks by hand. I definitely wouldn’t want to carry the jack hammer down the trail to where they were working. I workers were all covered in dirt… head to toe. They all looked exhausted. Two things made this dirty job interesting. All the workers looked like college students for foreign countries. And the temperature was 105+. Drink lots of water.
